Thursday September 5th

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos -8.5; Over/ Under: 47.5- Sports Authority Field at Mile High 8:30 PM ET

Both teams are loaded with talent, but the Ravens suffered some few losses on both sides of the ball.  Joe Flacco needs to prove he’s worth of the contract the front office gave him during the offseason, but he won’t have Anquan Boldin, nor Dennis Pitta for this matchup; the two of them were his best weapons in the Super Bowl run last year.

Peyton Manning not only will be on his second year with Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker as receivers, but he will have Tom Brady’s favorite target Wes Welker with him for the season.

Manning is arguably the best regular season quarterback in the history of the game, and there’s no question he will be looking for revenge after the Ravens eliminated in the playoffs last season.

NFL Pick: Take the Broncos -8.5 and the OVER.

Sunday Games September 8th

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints -3; Over/ Under: 53 – Mercedes-Benz Superdome 1 PM ET

The Saints defense was the worst in the NFL in 2012, but under Rob Ryan system they will be as aggressive as the 2009 season when they reached the Super Bowl.

New Orleans is tired of hearing the Falcons are the best team in the NFC South; plus, Drew Brees will have coach and play caller Sean Payton back to help him out.

The Saints have covered four of the five last games against the Falcons, and has won six of the last seven played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in Louisiana.

NFL Pick: Take the Saints -3.

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions -3; Over/ Under: 46 – Ford Field 1 PM ET

The Vikings get no respect despite the fact that they have the best running back in the game in Adrian Peterson, and they actually managed to get to 2012 playoffs by running the ball.

Detroit added Reggie Bush to their roster, but they have a lot of holes to fill, especially on defense.

Minnesota is 16-4 straight and 11-6-3 against the spread in the last 20 games vs the Lions.

NFL Pick: Vikings +3.

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers -4; Over/Under: 48.5 – Candlestick Park 4:25 PM ET

The 2012 Packers hopes and dreams ended precisely where they will open the 2013 season, at Candlestick Park.

The 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw for 263 yards and ran for an NFL record 181 yards in the NFC division playoffs game against the Packers that ended with a 45-31 victory for San Francisco.

Can the Packers defense handle this time the pistol offense Kaepernick runs? It’s not even about Aaron Rodgers; it’s about their defense.

San Francisco covered and won the two games they faced the Packers last season.

NFL Pick: 49ers -4.

Monday Night September 9th

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins -4.5 Over/Under: 50 – FedEx Field 7 PM ET

The Eagles are a question mark with the new offense Chip Kelly brings to the table, and the Redskins have no idea how RGIII will be after his knee reconstruction.

The Redskins are the better team of the two; they have the most talent, but quarterback RGIII is the key between a win and a loss.

Washington swept the series against Philadelphia last season; they covered the spread on both games, as well.

NFL Pick: Skins -4.
