New England Patriots (-3, 47 o/u) at Kansas City Chiefs

Prior to the season started, analysts and fans pretty much penciled in the New England Patriots as a 12-4 team. That could still happen but it’s looking less likely considering the Bill Belichick squad’s conspicuous start. Even though the team is 2-1, there are plenty of concerns in Patriot nation.

Belichick said, “We can do just really pretty much everything better offensively. Everything. Blocking, throwing, catching, running, run reads, routes, distribution, you name it.”

While the team has had struggles before, never has Tom Brady been the problem. That appears to have changed with season with the quarterback ranked 30th in the league. There are whispers circulating Brady is on the decline.

Brady said, “We’ve got some new players. We’ve got different things that are happening. We’re all trying to get used to one another and used to the things we’re doing.”

For tonight’s game, the Patriots travel to Kansas City to play a team (1-2) that is also underachieving. One of the issues wasn’t the running game. Despite losing Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles, who should be read go to tonight, the team watched Knile Davis fill in nicely running for 132 yards against Miami for a road win.

Said Chief quarterback Alex Smith, “Momentum’s a funny thing. It’s hard to put your finger on it, but certainly, this helps. This is what you’re looking for, a win on the road, a tough win, I thought.”

When looking for momentum regarding tonight’s game, you have to like the home dog. Invariably, the Chiefs and the points standout. And if you’re feeling adventurous, the Chiefs and the money line are also in play.
