In their first UEFA Champions League match, Bayer Leverkusen had the first slip of the season after losing 1-0 visiting Monaco; next Sunday, September 21, in the fourth fixture of the Bundesliga, they visit VfL Wolfsburg and if they want to maintain the first place they currently have,  they can’t stumble for the second time this week. The game will be at 9:30 ET in the Volkswagen Arena of Wolfsburg.

Thought the odds for the game are pretty even, in the Wolfsburg vs Leverkusen probabilities, the Werkself are the favorite listed +140 in the money line. On the other side, a Wolfsburg victory will pay +180 and a draw +250.

After three complete fixtures, Leverkusen arrives at the game as the leader of the German League with seven points (2W-1D-0L) and +4 in the goal difference. In front, the opponent VfL Wolfsburg is in the thirteen place of the table with only two points (0W-2D-1L) and a negative goal difference, -1.

For this game, Leverkusen has two challenges; the first one is winning in Wolfsburg for the first time since 2010 (they have lost in their last four visits to the Wolves home). The second one and most important is scoring the opportunities they have right away and kill the game as soon as possible. Werkself has commit that sin in their last two games and have suffered.

“We can only blame ourselves. We weren’t in the game at all in the second half. We were much the better side in the first half. We made a lot of chances and easily should have scored two, three goals. We need to be more clinical, more determined to score goals. We saw that also in the last Bundesliga game. We should have killed the game off in the first half. It shouldn’t happen at the highest level” Leverkusen forward Stefan Keissling said about the loss against Monaco.

Also in Leverkusen, the international Turkey central defender, Ömer Toprak, is a big question mark for the game after suffering a muscle injury in his right calf in last game against the French.
