Manchester City (+225) vs. Bayern Munich (+110) (Draw +260)

Today, Manchester City hosts Bayern Munich at Manchester Stadium in match day five of the UEFA Champions League. The game is life-and-death for Man City, who sit at the bottom of group E. They still have a chance to advance, but will need the full three points from their next two matches.  Kick-off is at 2:45 p.m. Eastern.

The head-to-head history between these two teams is pretty even; in five games, the Germans have won three and the Brits two. Despite playing in Manchester, Bayern are slight favorites to win, listed at +110 in the moneyline; a Man City win will pay +225 and the draw +260.

Bayern is currently at the top of the group with a perfect 4-0 record and the maximum 12 points; the early success has Bayern through to the Round of 16 already.

On the other side, anything but a win will eliminate Manchester City from the next round. City is fourth in the group with only two points (0W, 2D, 2L), behind AS Roma and CSKA Moscow (who both have four points).

“Of course if you have mathematical possibilities to qualify you must fight for them”, said the Manchester City coach, Manuel Pellegrini, after losing to CSKA Moscow at the beginning of the month.  “We are going to try to qualify for the next stage. It’s more difficult now but not impossible.”

Adding to the level of difficulty, Mac City will be without midfielder Yaya Toure for today’s game due to suspension. With Toure out, City will be hoping that Argentinian Sergio “El Kun” Agüero can find the back of the net again. He has been one of the lone bright spots for City this Champions League season with two goals through four matches; Agüero also leads the team in shot attempts. On the other side, Frenchman Franck Ribéry leads Bayern with two goals of his own.

With City struggling and Toure out, bet Bayern Munich.
