Real Madrid and Barcelona clash in the biggest game of the Spanish La Liga, ‘el clasico’, to be played at Camp Nou, this Saturday at 12 PM ET.

Barcelona is on top of the standings with 25 points of 27 disputed; only drawing against Osasuna last week.  The ‘bluegrana’ also tied on Tuesday at San Siro 1-1 against AC Milan for the UEFA Champions League.

Real Madrid is third with 22 points, but they haven’t showed their best form lately.  They beat Juventus 2-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday, but they were outplayed by the Italians, and perhaps didn’t deserve to win

Expect ‘the merengues’ to counterattack Barcelona.

“The counter attack is one weapon we can use against Barca,” Real Madrid coach Ancelotti

“It’s difficult to wrest the ball from them, and the important thing is that when we have it we do something positive, good interchanges of passes, and if there is space counter attacks,” added the Italian.

“The idea is to go and play and try to show our qualities, our game. Have the courage and personality to play football, not just to defend and wait.”

Real Madrid has beaten Barcelona in their last two meetings, including a 1-3 victory at Camp Nou for the Copa del Rey on February 26th.

The sports odds have Barcelona as the favorite in the moneyline listed -135, meanwhile Real Madrid is +325; the draw is +290.  The goals total is at three.
