A disastrous 2013 should be a turning point for the Georgia Bulldogs to start over and comeback stronger and better than ever, ready to be a challenger in the SEC battle.  Coach Mark Richt won’t let his program falls of the cliff for a bad season, and is ready to prove his ‘mojo’ never left.

The SEC conference is not for grabs, and has pretty clear contenders in 2014, and the Bulldogs want to be named in that bunch.  In fact, the College Football 2014 Future Betting Odds have them +700 to win it.

When QB Aaron Murray went down last season, Georgia had to put Hutson Mason in charge early than expected; he would finish the year with 1324 passing yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions, and the Bulldogs ended with the 16th best passing offense in the Nation, despite Mason’s improvisation.

“When you get one shot, you get one opportunity, you want to make sure that you do everything right,” Mason said to the press. “You want to make sure that you don’t have any regrets because I don’t get four years. I don’t have time to get my feet wet. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I wanted to be remembered as a champion.”

“I know I have a year left, but it’s hard to realize that, ‘Man, you’re the starting quarterback at UGA,” said Mason.

Georgia will get as far as Mason will take them; according to some of his coaches he knows the playbooks better than anybody has learned in that program and is set up for a great season.

“The blessing for us is Hutson Mason being in the program going into his fifth season,” head coach Mark Richt told the media contingent in Hoover, Alabama.

“He’s really sacrificed a lot for this team.  He’s staying because he loves Georgia, and he especially loves his teammates.  But he also knew that this season was going to come, and he was going to be surrounded by a lot of skill guys, a lot of great backs, receivers, some veteran linemen, a defense that should be matured from a year ago,” he added.

In order to help Mason, the Bulldogs need a lot from their defense, which allowed almost 30 points per game last season, and will have a new defensive coordinator in 2014.

Georgia is a long shot in the betting odds to win the 2014/2015 College Football Championship listed +1300.
