Wolfsburg (+300) vs Bayern Munich (-117), Draw (+260)

Only a handful of teams are bound to win every game and every tournament they play in: Bayern Munich is a prime example, and they will look to win the first trophy of the new soccer season when taking on Wolfsburg this Saturday, at the Volkswagen Arena, in the German Super Cup (2:30 PM Eastern).

This one game tournament features the Bundesliga winners, Bayern Munich, taking on the DFB-Pokal winners, Wolfsburg, to start the season in Germany.  For the Bavarians, it’s a good chance to win a Cup that has slipped away over the last two seasons, losing twice to Borussia Dortmund since coach Pep Guardiola joined the team.

Despite winning the Bundesliga twice under Guardiola, the coach is on the hot seat as many expect him to leave after this season. The Catalan was hired to keep Bayern on top of the European soccer, and over the last two seasons he has been eliminated in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League by Real Madrid and Barcelona.

This matchup will also be the perfect time to see new addition Arturo Vidal, who is coming off a great season with Juventus. Vidal won the Copa America with Chile during the offseason and is set to become one of the most important players on the roster.

“I’ve played professionally for a few years now, but today is the perfect moment to be joining a huge club like FC Bayern,” Vidal said at his press conference. “I’m thrilled about playing in the Bundesliga again and obviously hope to win it this time.”

Wolfsburg was one of the most eye-catching teams last season, finishing second place in the standings, only behind Bayern Munich. The white and green team scored 72 goals in 2014, a goal average of 2.11 per game, second-best in the Bundesliga.

The last time these two teams met, Wolfsburg smashed Bayern Munich 4-1. Even if taking Bayern is the clear choice, we have to see the Wolves as a fearless team that plans to begin the season challenging the main favorites in German soccer.

Pick: Wolfsburg (+300).
