Portland Trail Blazers at Los Angeles Clippers (-3.5)

The Portland Trail Blazers (39-19) are having one of their best seasons in recent memory, currently sitting seven games up on the Thunder in the Northwest Division. Tonight, they will look for a third straight win when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers (40-21) at the Staples Center (10:30 p.m. Eastern).

Portland’s current streak includes convincing wins over San Antonio (111-95) and Sacramento (110-99), along with a big division win over Oklahoma City (115-112).

Wednesday’s game will be the third of the season between these two sides. Despite the Blazers success this season, they dropped both of their previous games with the Clippers, including a 100-94 setback at the Moda Center in mid-January.

Chris Paul had 23 points and ten assists for the Clippers that night, while DeAndre Jordan added 17 points and 18 rebounds in a game that had playoff intensity.

“It’s one of those rare regular-season, playoff-type of games,” Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers said after the win. “They’re a lot of fun to get into, but you don’t get a lot of those. We didn’t go into it that way, but it turned into that.”

The Clippers have won three in a row (all on the road) heading into tonight, despite playing without star power forward Blake Griffin, who remains sidelined with an elbow injury. On their recent road swing, L.A. was able to get by Memphis, Chicago, and Minnesota.

The team is currently fifth in the Western Conference, 1.5 games back of Houstong and just half a game up on Dallas.

The Clippers have picked up seven wins in their last ten against the Blazers overall, but are just 4-5-1 against the spread in those ten games.
