Utah Jazz at Dallas Mavericks (-10, 202.5 o/u)

Tonight, the Utah Jazz will visit the American Airlines Center to face the Dallas Mavericks in their second game of the 2014/15 NBA Season.

The Jazz – who finished with the worst record in the Western Conference last season – will be looking for their first win over the Mavericks in 19 months. The last was back in January 2013. Utah has lost five straight in the meantime, all by at least 5 points.

In Utah, the go-to guys are small forward Gordon Hayward and power forward Derrick Favors. Last season, they lead the team in points, steals, rebounds, and blocks: Hayward averaged 16.2 points per game, while Favors had 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per contest. Tonight’s game will also mark the NBA debut of 6’5″ Australian Dante Exum, who was taken fifth overall by the Jazz in the 2014 NBA draft.

On the other side, “Disco” Dirk Nowitzki is still the man in Dallas, but he has some more firepower around him this year in the form of Chandler Parsons. Nowitzki led the Mavericks in 2013 with 21.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, playing for the Rockets in 2013/14, Parsons averaged 16.6 points and 5.5 rebounds.

The Mavericks are ten-point favorites and the over/under sits at 202.5.

Utah is 6-14 SU and 8-12 ATS in the last 20 games against Dallas.
