The Oakland Raiders won’t be able to evaluate their rookie QB Derek Carr, when they take on the Green Bay Packers, this Friday at 8 PM ET at Lambeau Field, in week three of the 2014 preseason.

Carr returned to the practices this week after suffering a concussion in the game against the Detroit Lions.  He also suffered from sore ribs and was limited in the practices.

“I never had one ever, so it’s a little scary to me,” he said. “Obviously, I’m feeling a lot better now than I was. I’m just looking forward to taking it day by day. Obviously, it’s a slow process. Just progressing as the week goes on.”

Carr wasn’t beating veteran Matt Schaub for the starting QB position, but Oakland would love to see, what they think is their future, in action this week against Green Bay.

“How our offense goes is how the quarterback goes,” Schaub said. “Just be more consistent in what we’re doing.”

The Packers, like the Raiders, are 1-1 in the preseason, and they are coming off a 21-7 victory over the St. Louis Rams.

“The offense got off to a great start,” Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said. “I really liked the production that we were able to get done in the first two series.”

For this game, the NFL betting lines listed the Packers as seven points favorites and the game total was set at 45 points.
