Let’s go ahead and look at the matchup that opens the NFL week two between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens, Thursday September 14 at 8:25 PM ET at the M&T Bank Stadium, in Baltimore Maryland.

The game features the two powerhouses from the last decade in the AFC north, despite last season it was the Cincinnati Bengals who the division.

Steelers and Ravens missed the playoffs in 2013 and will look to be back on top, at least inside the division.

Of course, when we think about the matchups between these two franchises we remember huge defensive games with plenty of strikes in the trenches, but that old school and the rivalry has chance a little over the last few seasons.

The Steelers will try to give QB Ben Roethlisberger some protection after he was sacked 42 times last season, and his offensive line looked shaky in the preseason. Baltimore was average rushing the QB in 2013, but after losing a lot of players, they should be better this season.

The Ravens have the same task of the Steelers; protect QB Joe Flacco, who was sacked 48 times last season.  Offensive lineman Michael Oher is now in Tennessee; he was a problem last season; however, keep in mind RB Ray Rice will serve his second and last game of the suspension the league gave him in the offseason for domestic violence.

The NFL Odds open with the Ravens as 2-point favorites for the Thursday night game, we’ll see if things chance after week one.

Baltimore is 8-3 SU in its last 11 games when playing at home against Pittsburgh, but 1-5 ATS in its last six games at the M&T Bank Stadium.
