Real Madrid will try to start their Champions League title defense with the right foot next Tuesday, 16th against FC Basel 1893 at 14:45 ET in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

This match will be the kick off on the group B of the Champions.  Liverpool FC and the Cinderella, PFC Ludogorets Razgrad, complete the group. The defenders of the tittle are the heavy favorites in the UEFA Champions League odds listed -1000 in the money line. In contrast, a FC win chance is pay with +2000 and +800 in case of a draw.

The ten times winner of the Champions and FC Basel have faced each other two times in UEFA Champions League. Back in 1972 edition, Real Madrid won both games in Spain and Switzerland by 2-1.

The problem for head coach Carlo Ancelotti is his team has started well the Spanish la Liga with two losses in the first three games of the season.

Merengues are looking forward to continue with their good home streak, since they won their last six UEFA Champions League home games last term, scoring 17 goals and only conceding three. Indeed, in the last 18 UEFA Champions League games at the Santiago Bernabeu Real Madrid is unbeaten. Last defeat was back to April 2011 against the archrival FC Barcelona.

On the other hand, the Swiss team has never win in Spain (W0 D2 L2), but they will try to surprise the world again as they did in last year opening game in London against Chelsea.
