The Seahawks will host the 49ers on Sunday night football this weekend in the best game of the week, but can they repeat what they did last season when they humiliated San Francisco?

The game is at CenturyLink Field and is going to be broadcasted by NBC.  It’s a matchup of two pure heavyweights in the NFC; two teams that most people picked to make it to the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks are 3 points favorites in the spread, which tell you the oddsmakers think these two teams are as good as the other, with home field advantage as the only difference between the two.

Seattle beat Carolina 12-7 in week one with quarterback Russell Wilson driving his team to victory in the fourth quarter.  The game was anything but easy for the Seahawks, but a win is a win.  The second year QB found Jermaine Kearse for a 43 yards touchdown in the fourth quarter and sealed the deal.

“We’d called for a shot before, and I was surprised we’d missed on that one,” said Wilson. “Maybe I threw it a little too far. I saw Kearse out there with the rest of the guys, and I read the play. He was a second read, and he did a great job of attacking the football.”

The Seahawks defense will have the challenge to stop QB Colin Kaepernick, who threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns in the 49ers victory over the Packers.

Seattle managed to held Cam Newton for a career-low 163 yards on offense (125 passing yards, 38 rushing yards), but Kaepernick is another ‘type of horse’.  Not only is San Francisco better than Carolina, but now with Anquan Boldin on their roster they might better than last season.

The game will set the tone for the rest of the way in the NFC West. The 49ers remember how they were dismantled also on a Sunday night last season in week 16, and they want some payback.

There’s a bad blood between these two franchises.
