NCAA March Madness Quiz: Do You Know Your Mid-Majors?
You can’t turn on SportsCenter without being pummeled into submission with highlights from Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Teams from the Power Five conference get all the love from the national media, and that’s a shame, because there are some Mid-Major squads that are straight up ballin’ this season.
Gonzaga and Nevada have been near the top of the Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 all year long. Buffalo has racked up 23 straight home wins. And Wofford – yes tiny little Wofford – has won over 80% of its game despite having fewer than 1,600 undergrads on campus. Wofford is so anonymous that the most common question on Google regarding the liberal arts college is “Is Wofford a Division 1 school?”
We believe everyone should know a bit more about these high-flying, odds-defying Mid-Major teams. That’s why we’ve created a fun new quiz to see how well you know these under-the-radar schools. We’ve included nuggets about wild nicknames, bizarre mascots, and Steph Curry’s alma mater (Here’s a hint: it’s in North Carolina).
