The 2021 PGA Championship heads back to the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, SC, for the first time since 2012. Rory McIlroy captured the Wanamaker trophy by a record eight strokes in that edition of this major championship, and plenty of golfers will be tested by the seaside track this year.

We’ve been tracking the odds of every golfer involved leading up to the event. Each graph below has been generated by averaging the odds from multiple online sportsbooks.

• [May 23] In what was an absolutely unforgettable day at the Ocean Course, Phil Mickelson won his sixth major championship – cashing in on pre-tourney odds of +29000 for anyone who took a shot on Lefty
• [May 22] Phil Mickelson started out Saturday’s round on fire, with four birdies in his first 10 holes reaching as low as -10 before a bogey-double bogey stretch on 12 and 13 brought him back to the pack. He finished with five straight pars to hold the lead after 54 holes, and is now at odds of +275. Koepka is still the betting favorite at odds of +150 while a shot back of Phil after a few disappointing missed putts led him to a round of 69. Oosthuizen is solo 3rd at -5 after grinding out an even par round, while Bryson DeChambeau lurks at odds of +1600 sitting just five back of the lead
• [May 21] In what has been a familiar scene at recent PGA Championships, Brooks Koepka held a share of the lead for most of the afternoon on Friday before two late late bogeys dropped him to -4, one shot back of the leaders – but he’s still the betting favorite at +400 odds. Louis Oosthuizen (+550) will join Phil Mickelson (+1200) in Saturday’s final pairing, with both sitting at -5. Hideki Matsuyama is the 3rd betting choice sitting at -3, while first round leader Corey Conners stumbled to a 3-over 75, and now has odds of +2000 to win.
• [May 20] Corey Conners saw his odds shorten all the way down to favorite’s position after shooting the low round of the day with a 5-under 67 – he’s now at average odds of +650. Brooks Koepka and Viktor Hovland are the biggest names among a large pack T2 at -3, with odds of +950 and +800, respectively. Pre-tournament favorites Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas both saw their odds fade out of the top 20 after tough days on the course.
• [May 17] With a deep field descending upon Kiawah, almost every player has seen his odds slightly fade, including defending champ Collin Morikawa — who is now at a price of +2900 on average to repeat. Rory McIlroy remains the outright favorite. Dustin Johnson has also seen his odds fall to +1800 at DraftKings, as a result of uncertainty about his condition
• [May 10] After his win in front of massive galleries at Quail Hollow – his third win at the course – Rory McIlroy moved into favorite’s position at average odds of +1000 as he returns to Kiawah Island, where he won in 2012
• [May 3] Not much movement among guys at the top of the board this week, while contenders in the third tier – namely Corey Conners and Bubba Watson – saw their odds slightly shorten
• [April 26] We didn’t see much odds movement for specific players due to the team-competition at this past week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Of note, both Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka saw their odds slightly fade out of the top five.
• [April 19] With many of the top players sitting out after competing in the Masters, there wasn’t any significant movement in the PGA Championship odds at the top of the board. Stewart Cink was given +15000 odds after his wire-to-wire win at Harbour Town
• [April 12] Despite a missed cut at the Masters this past weekend, Dustin Johnson remains the favorite to win next month’s PGA Championship. Taking place at Kiawah Island, it should be a bit of a home game for Johnson who grew up in the area. Rory McIlroy won the event the last time it was played at Kiawah by a whopping eight strokes, and he’s in the top five as well despite a very poor Masters performance
