This page monitored the 2022 American League and National League MVP odds from the preseason through to the week the awards were handed out.

2022 AL MVP Odds

 

 

  • Sep. 25: Only four players are left on the board (fewer at many sportsbooks) as Judge is poised to claim his first AL MVP.
  • Aug. 28: Judge’s odds have moved to a season-best -950 while Ohtani has faded to +625. No other player is shorter than +8250.
  • July 31: Judge has come back with a vengeance. He’s back to being favored at a season-best -390. Ohtani has faded to +313.
  • July 17: Ohtani (-110) has taken over as favorite from Judge (+155). No other player is shorter than +1300.
  • June 26: Judge (-103) is an odds-on favorite at this point, with Ohtani dropping to +350.
  • June 5: Judge (+230) has taken over as favorite from Ohtani (+300), while Trout is a close third at +375 before a steep drop to Ramirez (+1200).
  • May 23: Ohtani (+218) shortened slightly, while Judge (+438) is now tied with Trout for second-favorite. Guerrero faded to +1100 and sits fourth.
  • May 17: Ohtani’s odds to repeat improved significantly (from +375 to +235) over the past ten days. Trout remains second at +450. Judge is now third at +650 with Guerrero dropping to fourth at +775.
  • May 8: Perennial favorite Trout has moved to second at +450, ahead of Guerrero, who faded to +475. Judge (+925) and Buxton (+950) round out the top five.
  • Apr. 25: Though he hasn’t been great on the mound or at the plate so far, Ohtani improved to +315. Jose Ramirez moved to fourth, improving from +2000 to +1050.
  • Apr. 17: Guerrero improved from +575 to +350 and is only a hair behind Ohtani (+335).
  • Apr. 10: With three homers and four RBI in his first three games, Twins OF Byron Buxton has improved from +3250 to +1200.
  • Apr. 3: Shohei Ohtani is a +370 favorite over Angles teammate Mike Trout (+500) and the Blue Jays’ Vlad Guerrero Jr (+500).

2022 NL MVP Odds

  • Sep. 25: Not quite as short as Judge in the AL, Goldschmidt is the presumptive NL MVP at -5000 odds.
  • Aug. 28: Goldschmidt’s odds move ever shorter. He’s now -1175 with second-favorite Arenado back at +1850.
  • June 26: A solid June has made Goldschmidt the +170 favorite with Alonso now second at +475.
  • June 5: Betts surged from +1200 to the +305 favorite over the past two weeks. Goldschmidt also made a massive improvement (+2250 to +478) while Machado faded from +213 to +400.
  • May 23: Machado, who leads the NL in average, OPS, and WAR, is now a massive +213 favorite. Second-favorite Arenado faded to +775.
  • May 17: Machado continues to ascend. He improved from +600 to +363 and now holds a sizable lead on Arenado (+600), Soto (+850) and Harper (+900). No one else is shorter than +1300.
  • May 8: Machado (+600) and Arenado (+625) have both moved ahead of Soto (+725) while Acuna Jr faded to fourth (+1000).
  • Apr. 25: No one is grabbing the reins on the NL MVP race yet. Soto faded from +300 to +400. Second-favorite Acuna went from +750 to +800. The only top-five favorite to improve was Lindor (+1550 to +1000).
  • Apr. 17: Cubs rookie Seiya Suzuki has improved from +6500 to +3500 and is now a top-15 favorite.
  • Apr. 10: Slashing just .241/.313/.429 through four games, favorite Juan Soto has slipped from +320 to +353.
  • Apr. 3: Juan Soto (+320) is miles ahead of second-favorite Ronald Acuna (+800) in the opening NL MVP odds.
