Matchup Overview

It’s win or go home for the Raptors and 76ers as they prepare for Game 7 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Sunday, May 12. Tip off time for this must-see matchup is 7:00 p.m. EST at Scotiabank Arena.

Sixers Refused to Fold in Game 6

The Sixers showed plenty of fight in Game 6, downing the Raptors 112-101 at Wells Fargo Center. Jimmy Butler led the way with 25 points and eight assists and Ben Simmons snapped out of his series-long funk with 21 points, eight rebounds, and six dimes. It was easily Simmons’ best game yet as the former Rookie or the Year consistently attacked the rim.

Raptors Went Ice Cold from Deep

The Raptors shot just 25% from beyond the arc after missing 14 of their 17 three-point attempts in the first half. Danny Green was among the biggest culprits as he went just 2-8 from deep. Over all, Toronto has hit 33.5% of its threes in the postseason.

Embiid Bounced Back

Joel Embiid may not be 100% yet after dealing with a stomach bug and a lingering knee issue, but he looked considerably better in Game 6. The All-Star center had 17 points and 12 rebounds in 36 minutes. Embiid also showed considerably more focus and effort on defense, ending up with a pair of swats.

Philly Needs to Maintain the Same Energy

One of the biggest differences between Game 5 and Game 6 for the 76ers was the team’s overall energy level. Philadelphia played with considerably more bounce in its step from the get-go on Thursday, as evidenced by its 58-43 lead at halftime.

“I thought our focus level and energy was great and obviously the crowd was on our side,” Tobias Harris said afterwards, “but we know that for Game 7 we have to have the same energy, the same grit.”
