Don’t expect a tight game tonight at United Center as the Bucks opened as 9.5 point favorites versus the Bulls. Tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST.
That’s what happens when one of the NBA’s best defensive teams tangles with one of the league’s worst offensive teams.
The Bucks have been doing an outstanding job of limiting opponents in 2018-19. They’re seventh in fewest points allowed at 107.5 points per contest, and are holding teams to 47.0% from the field and 36.0% from deep. Milwaukee grits out14 turnovers per game and is first in the league in rebounding at 48.8 per game.
Milwaukee’s defense has been nearly as good as Chicago’s offense has been bad. The Bulls have the Association’s 30th-best offensive rating, and are averaging just 102.9 points per games on 43.0% shooting. Chicago is 26th in rebounds and 27th in assists. They’ll need to be far more efficient tonight to have any shot of earning a victory.
These two teams have met two times this year, with the Bucks winning on two occasions. The last time they played on November 29th, 2018, Milwaukee won 116- 113 behind 36 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Bucks are fresh off an 83-103 loss against the Magic in Milwaukee in which they handed out 18 dimes and had five steals. Eric Bledsoe torched the Magic for 19 points. The Bulls, meanwhile, are coming off of a 134-125 loss vs the Wizards in Washington in which they shot 6 for 24 from deep and won the war on the glass 52-45.
Overall, the Bucks have won eight of their previous ten games and are first in the Eastern Conference, while the Bulls have lost seven of their last ten and are 13th in the Eastern Conference.
The 9.5-point spread isn’t the only angle you can take advantage of. Bookmakershave also set a high over/under total of 219. Keep in mind that Milwaukee is 32-20-3 against the spread this year and 27-28-0 over/under, compared to 24-31-1 ATS and 25-31-0 over/under for Chicago.
