Matchup Overview

The Raptors will try to keep on rolling on Tuesday, May 21 as they battle the Bucks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Tip off time is 8:30 p.m. EST at Scotiabank Arena.

Raptors Clawed Their Way Back into the Series in Game 3

Toronto showed plenty of fight in Game 3 as they toppled Milwaukee 118-112 in double overtime. It was far from an instant classic as both teams shot below 40% and squandered multiple opportunities, but a win’s a win, and the Raptors now have a new lease on life after beginning the series with a pair of disheartening losses.

Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 36 points, including eight in the second overtime, as he willed Toronto to victory. The former Finals MVP is now averaging 32.0 points in the postseason on 52% shooting from the floor and 39.3% shooting from beyond the arc. His machine-like efficiency is the one reason why the Raptors are still preparing for tip-off times rather than tee times.

Powell Was a Difference Maker

Nick Nurse called Norman Powell’s number repeatedly on Sunday, and the reserve guard didn’t disappoint, scoring 19 points in 30 minutes off the bench. The UCLA alum is now averaging 13 points in the Eastern Conference Finals after chipping in just three points a game against the Sixers in the second-round.  Expect him to play plenty of minutes again in Game 4, especially if Danny Green continues to struggle from deep.

Milwaukee’s Starters Need to Step Up

The Bucks’ starters shot just 19 for 69 in Game 3 and were outscored by the Raptors’ starting five 91-58. Milwaukee will need far more productive nights from Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored just 12 points in 45 minutes, and Khris Middleton, who shot just 3-16, to prevail tonight.

Home Court Advantage

The Raptors were one of the NBA mightiest home teams during the regular season, going 32-19 at Scotiabank Arena in 2018-19. That trend has largely held up in the playoffs as Toronto is 5-2 at home since the postseason began.
