Don’t expect a nail biter on Friday, March 15 at Wells Fargo Center as the 76ers opened as 9.0 point favorites against the Kings. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST.
Sacramento comes into this game with the Association’s 16th-ranked defensive rating. They’re giving up 114.8 points per contest and are 10th in field goals allowed and 22nd in threes allowed. Offensively, they’re averaging 113.7 points and are 14th in rebounds and 10th in assists.
They’ve received big contributions this season from Buddy Hield, who is averaging 20.9 points per contest on 45.0% shooting.
On the flip side, Philadelphia has the NBA’s 10th-ranked offensive rating. The 76ers are averaging 114.8 points per game on 44.0% shooting and are fourth in rebounds and third in assists.
Much of their offense has been generated by Joel Embiid, who is leading the 76ers with 27.2 points per game on 45.0% shooting, and Tobias Harris, who is chipping in 19.9 points per game. The Kings will have their hands full with both players tonight.
Defensively, the 76ers are giving up 111.5 points per game and are 26th in field goals allowed and fourth in three-pointers allowed. They’re letting opponents shoot 45.0% from the floor and 34.0% from downtown.
These two teams have already met once this season. The last time they played on February 3rd, 2019, Sacramento won 115-108 behind 34 points from Buddy Hield.
The 76ers are coming off of a 99-106 win vs the Cavaliers in Cleveland in which they shot 8 for 23 from deep and won the war on the glass 67-42. The Kings, meanwhile, are fresh off a 115-121 loss against the Wizards in Washington in which they handed out 28 dimes and scratched and clawed their way to eight steals. De’Aaron Fox led the way with 23 points.
Overall, the Kings have won three of their last ten games and are ninth in the Western Conference, while the 76ers have dropped four of their previous ten and are third in the Eastern Conference.
The 9.0-point spread isn’t the only angle you can take advantage of. Online sportsbooks have also set a big over/under total of 233. Bear in mind that Sacramento is 38-27-1 against the spread this season and 33-33-0 over/under, compared to 32-36-0 ATS and 32-36-0 over/under for Philadelphia.
