On the flip side, Boston has the Association’s 8th-ranked offensive rating. The Celtics are averaging 112.3 points per game on 44.0% shooting and are 21st in rebounds and sixth in assists.
They’ve been paced this year by Kyrie Irving, who is leading the Celtics with 23.4 points per game on 48.0% shooting, and Jayson Tatum, who is chipping in 16.1 points per game. The Kings will have to work hard to contain both players tonight.
Defensively, the Celtics are giving up 107.1 points per game and are 29th in field goals allowed and seventh in three-pointers surrendered. Opponents are shooting 45.0% from the floor and 34.0% from deep against them this season.
These two teams have already met once this season. The last time they played on March 7th, 2019, Boston won 111-109 behind 24 points from Jayson Tatum.
The Celtics are coming off of a 140-115 loss against the Clippers in Los Angeles in which they were 14 for 36 from deep were out-rebounded 52-38. The Kings, meanwhile, are fresh off a 115-121 loss against the Wizards in Washington in which they dished out 28 dimes and had eight steals. De’Aaron Fox torched the Wizards for 23 points.
All told, the Kings have won three of their previous ten games and are ninth in the Western Conference, while the Celtics have have come out on the losing end of six of their last ten and are fifth in the Eastern Conference.
The 8.0-point spread isn’t the only angle you can take advantage of. Bookmakers have also set a big over/under total of 229. Bear in mind that Sacramento is 38-27-1 against the spread this year and 33-33-0 over/under, compared to 34-33-1 ATS and 37-31-0 over/under for Boston.
