Don’t expect a tight game on Saturday, March 16 at Pepsi Center as the Nuggets opened as 8.0 point favorites versus the Pacers. Tip off is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. EST.
Indiana enters this game with the NBA’s second-ranked defensive rating. They’re giving up 103.9 points per game and are 15th in field goals allowed and 14th in threes allowed. Offensively, they’re averaging 108.2 points and are 24th in rebounds and eighth in assists.
Denver, meanwhile, has the Association’s 3rd-ranked offensive rating. The Nuggets are averaging 112.1 points per game on 44.0% shooting and are sixth in rebounds and second in assists.
They’ve been paced this season by Nikola Jokic, who is tops on the Nuggets with 20.2 points per game on 47.0% shooting, and Jamal Murray, who is chipping in 18.3 points per game. The Pacers will have their hands full with both players tonight.
Defensively, the Nuggets are giving up 107.1 points per game and are 13th in field goals allowed and first in three-pointers allowed. They’re letting opponents shoot 46.0% from the floor and 34.0% from deep.
This is the first time in 2018-19 these two rivals have met, but both clubs have been busy lately.
The Pacers are fresh off a 108-106 win against the Thunder in Indiana in which they dished out 24 assists and scratched and clawed their way to 11 swipes. Domantas Sabonis led the way with 26 points. The Nuggets, meanwhile, are coming off of a 99-100 win vs the Mavericks in Dallas in which they shot 8 for 29 from deep and won the war on the glass 50-49.
Overall, the Pacers have won five of their last ten games and are third in the Eastern Conference, while the Nuggets have have come out on the losing end of four of their last ten and are second in the Western Conference.
