Real Madrid will host Barcelona in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, but with the task of turning around the 3-2 defeat they suffered at Camp Nou last week.

The Super Cup is a prestige tournament that faces the Spanish La Liga winner and the Copa Del Rey winner, but considering Madrid and Barcelona will face each other this season; it’s a bigger deal than usual.

Real Madrid lost to Barcelona in the first leg and needs to win by more than one goal in order to lift the cup. However, their form at the beginning of the season has been awful, losing to their archrivals, and drawing the first two games of the 2012-13 La Liga.

The Merengues brought playmaker Luca Modric from Totenham to give the team a new edge. The Croatian arrived on Monday and will be set to play against Barcelona on Wednesday.

“It’s been a long process, but in the end I could come. I’m very happy, honored and proud to be here, at the best club in the world. Excited to be here, I cannot wait to train and play,” Modric said.

For Barcelona the situation it’s pretty simple; play as they know and recollect another trophy at the end. The Catalans should have won by more goals in the first leg, but Madrid was lucky; Barcelona it’s by far the better team and they know it.

Expect Barcelona to win game two, also.
