Harry and Meghan’s royal departure was decided in a pre-pandemic world. Amidst the current fears of COVID-19, the public is speculating that Harry and Meghan may pack up and head back to London to be with Harry’s family. After all, Harry’s dad, Prince Charles, ended up contracting the virus.

It would make a lot of sense on paper for Harry and Meghan to safely hide out with the Royal Family. That move would come with a lot of safety and security. But that consideration is only looking at half the picture. Certainly, no matter where this couple goes, they are able to have a sense of comfort given the means at their disposal.

For those uninitiated into the details of the couple’s personal lives, the move to Los Angeles is not a surprise. Meghan is well connected in Los Angeles. Her mother, Doria Ragland, is an LA resident. She’s the Duchess’ closest blood relative and was the only member of Meghan’s family to be present at the Royal Wedding in 2018.

But even though her mom is only ten miles away, Meghan and Harry haven’t had a chance to visit with Doria due to social distancing.

For the safety of everyone involved, the couple will probably stay put for the time being until COVID-19 ends. But after the world resumes a sense of normality, the pair will likely have itchy feet once again and want to try a new destination on for size. So, what is the next best thing geographically? That’d be San Diego.

Odds on a Third Megxit Before 2022

The British media used the term “Megxit” (a play on Brexit) when Harry and Meghan initially announced their plans to step down and leave for North America.

Once the couple left Canada for Los Angeles last month, the term resurfaced. So, will the third time be the charm that eventually settles the couple for good, or will they leave LA in short order?

In order for this “yes” bet to succeed, the couple must announce a permanent move from Los Angeles for another location.

Given their track record, it’s quite probable they’ll relocate at least once within the next year and a half.

Harry and Meghan are living their best lives, trying out new things and visiting new locations. Los Angeles is one of the biggest and most exciting cities in the world, sure. But this couple has a lot more ground to cover.
