Charles Conwell’s Road to 13-0

Conwell was the US representative at the 2016 Olympics and has a wealth of amateur experience with well over a hundred wins before going pro.

Charles Conwell has that confluence of power in his hands while also being quite fast. The number nine ranked IBF contender is looking to add another one to the highlight reel next time he steps through the ropes.

Charles Conwell’s last fight saw him best 36 fight veteran Ramses Agaton via fourth-round stoppage in February of this year.

Conversely, the last time Toussaint was in action saw him defeat Isiah Jones via unanimous decision in an eight-round affair on August 22.

Wendy Toussaint Path to Staying Unbeaten

Despite rampant event cancellations from the global pandemic, Toussaint is entering the ring for his third fight of 2020 this Wednesday.

Two-thirds of his pro bouts have taken place on the Huntington, New York circuit and he is primed to step up to the next competitive tier here.

Context is key for Toussaint’s KO power as some might dismiss his 42 percent overall stoppage rate without realizing that all five of those finishes came across his last seven wins.

Conversely, Conwell has a 75 percent stoppage rate overall. Both of these guys are hungry and firing on all cylinders which increases the excitement for this perfectly timed prizefight.

Toussaint is 28 and some are theorizing he’s approaching that magic confluence in combat sports where he has a veteran fight IQ but still has all the athletic tools needed to properly execute strategy. The 22-year-old Conwell has a great deal of experience that belies his youth though.

This contest is scheduled for ten rounds but I don’t see this one going the distance. I think Conwell will secure the stoppage inside of eight rounds.

Pick: Charles Conwell (-1000)

Main Card Picks for Conwell vs Toussaint

  1. Brandun Lee vs Jimmy Williams: This welterweight contest is scheduled to go for eight rounds. Both have a similar level of pro experience but Lee is unbeaten while Williams has come up short on a few occasions. Considering his 7 stoppages in 19 wins, I think Lee gets the finish. I see Brandun Lee scoring the stoppage inside of three frames.  Pick: Brandun Lee ( -3300)
  2. Janelson Figueroa Bocachica vs Nicklaus Flaz: This is another eight-round welterweight affair. Flaz is on a four-fight win streak and has a 75 percent stoppage rate through that run. Bocachica has ten career stoppages across 15 total wins but I think Flaz’s durability will result in this one going to a decision. I think Bocachica picks up a win on points and maintains his spotless professional record. Pick: Janelson Figueroa Bocachica (-800)
