The UEFA Champions League semifinal between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could be the biggest set of matches of the season.  The first leg will be this Wednesday at 14:45 PM ET at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Real Madrid hasn’t been in the Champions League final since 2002; they have been in the semifinals the last three years, but were eliminated every single time.

The merengues don’t know if playmaker Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit to play on Wednesday; he has been injured and has missed important games for the last few weeks.

“He trained quite normally today, like any day. Tomorrow we will test him again and see how it goes. He will play if everyone us sure that it is safe. If there is any risk of a relapse, he won’t play,” said Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Bayern looks to win back to back Europeans titles for the first time since AC Milan did it in 1989-1990.  Their coach Jose Guardiola, expects Ronaldo to play so his team can beat the best of Madrid.

“I hope Cristiano plays. It’s a match in which we want to put on a show for the fans; people want to see the best players and there’s no doubt he’s one of them,” the Bayern coach told reporters ahead of the clash at the Bernabeu.

According to the UEFA Champions League odds Real Madrid is +135 in the money line to win at home; Bayern Munich is +180 and the draw is at +250.
