Brazil and Spain will finally meet this Sunday at 6 PM ET in the Confederations Cup Final at Maracaná stadium, in the match most people have been waiting for a while.

Spain is the current dominant team in the world, and Brazil is the historic dominant country in soccer; a game of this magnitude is the perfect combination to end a tournament like this one.

These two countries have met eight times before, and the one from Sunday will be the first since 1999.  Brazil currently has three wins and a draw streak over, and they are the favorites to win the cup, especially considering they play at home.

Spain has a 29 consecutive games streak without a loss; their last defeat was against Switzerland in the group stage of the 2010 World Cup.

The game will also put Brazilian striker Neymar against most of his new teammates from Barcelona.

”Barcelona must be beaming seeing what he has been doing here’,’ Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said. ”He has been playing well, making a difference against European defenders.”

”Neymar is our idol. He is the people’s idol”, Scolari said. ”He has had a nice string of matches, and everybody is happy about that. It’s important for him to be going through all of these different situations with Brazil because it’s something that will make him even better in the future.”

Brazil’s style is to be a little more careful with the ball and will try to stop Spain’s amazing passing game, but the Spanish remain on my mind as the favorites as they have won the last two European Championships and the World Cup 2010.

Brazil is listed +145 in the moneyline, Spain +170 and the draw over 120 minutes pays +225.
