Burnley (+320) vs. Liverpool (-115) (Draw +250)

After drawing against Arsenal at Anfield (2-2) on the weekend, the competition eases a bit for Liverpool as they travel to Turf Moor Stadium to face Burnley tomorrow (10:00 a.m. Eastern).

The all-time series between these two sides is pretty even: Liverpool have won 31 meetings versus 26 for Burnley (along with 19 draws). But with Burnley struggling this season, the Reds come to town as -115 favorites in the moneyline. Meanwhile, the draw is at +250 and a Burnley victory will pay +320.

The Reds came into the season with tempered expectations after losing star striker Luis Suarez. But the Liverpool faithful were certainly hoping for more than what they’ve seen so far. Liverpool were eliminated from the Champions League in the Group Stage and are squarely in the middle of the EPL standings, sitting tenth with 22 points (6-4-7) and a negative goal differential (-3).

Things have not been going any better of late, either, as Liverpool have won just two of their last six fixtures. The Reds were playing so poorly that they were underdogs to Arsenal at home last weekend.

Burnley’s season can perhaps offer some perspective for the lamentous Liverpool fans, though. The Clarets are 18th in the table and, if the season ended today, would get relegated. Burnley are sitting on 15 points and a 3-6-8 record.  They have an astonishingly bad -14 goal differential, which is tied for worst in the Premier League with last-place Leicester City.

Like Liverpool, Burnley has won only two of their last six fixtures in the tournament. Unlike Liverpool, they probably consider that a hot-streak.

Burnley narrowly missed making it three wins in their last match, falling 2-1 to Spurs, away.

“I’m not disappointed. This is a tough place to come; they have started to turn some decent results in. I thought we delivered a good performance, worked their keeper and affected their back four,” said Burnley manager Sean Dyche after the loss to Tottenham.

In their last four league games against the Reds, Burnley has failed to score a single goal. They have also been blanked in five of their last six against Liverpool in all competitions. Don’t expect out outburst of offense from the Clarets tomorrow.
