EPL Odds: Spurs To Extend Streak Against West Brom

West Brom (8-5-7, 29 points) travels to White Hart Lane to take on a threatening Tottenham (12-6-2, 42 points) side on Saturday, January 14th in the 21st round of the English Premier League.
Tottenham are hot off a 2-0 win against Chelsea, where they outplayed the league leaders and ended their record-tying 13-game win streak. The victory launched the Spurs into third place, seven points from the top.
With Manchester City still struggling to find a system that works for them and Arsenal dropping unnecessary points, the Spurs are now one of the few teams with a decent chance of catching Chelsea. They’re currently on a five game win streak and have remained the best defensive team throughout the season so far, conceding only 14 goals in their 20 Premier League games.
But there are two concerns for the Spurs that could prevent them from claiming their first title since the inception of the Premier League. The first is inconsistency. While the Spurs are in great form right now, they have a tendency to underperform when it matters most. Despite the season being pretty good so far, it has still been riddled with rough patches. They flamed out of the Champions League and drew a lot more matches than they should have earlier in the season.
The second concern is the transfer window. With their new form comes new interest from bigger clubs. Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker are all hot prospects for teams like Manchester United, Manchester City, PSG and even Real Madrid. That is, if you believe the transfer rumours.
Either way, Tottenham will have to bite the bullet and agree to some pretty hefty contracts if they are going to keep their stars.
West Brom are having a pretty good season for a club their size. Their new striker, Salomón Rondón, who was brought in this year from Zenit Saint Petersburg, has been a great asset up front, leading the scoring with seven goals.
They play a decent counter attack and have had a lot of success against lower-ranked teams. But they have struggled to come up with any upset wins against higher ranked teams and given the form that Tottenham is currently in, their chances don’t look too good this weekend.
