  • CWL Anaheim 2019 kicks off June 14th
  • Will OpTic find their second title of the year?
  • Can 100 Thieves go back-to-back?

The fourth event of the CWL Season is set to take begin on June 14th, with one of the most iconic events that there is in Call of Duty, CWL Anaheim. So far this year we have seen a new winner at the first three events with OpTic taking the first, Luminosity claiming the second, and 100 Thieves taking the most recent in London.

Heading into CWL Anaheim both OpTic and 100 Thieves sit high in the odds table. Are they the right teams to look at to hoist the trophy, or will a team that hasn’t tasted victory yet this year be the ones showered in confetti in Cali?

Best Bets

Heading into CWL Anaheim, I would only really seriously consider looking at four teams to take home the title: OpTic, eUnited, 100 Thieves, and FaZe. All four teams are seemingly on a pretty level playing field so it will be tightly contested, but I would rank two teams just a little bit higher than the rest.

OpTic breezed through their past two weeks of Pro League with a 7-0 record, so they are coming in hot to Anaheim.

First we’ll start with OpTic. A squad made up of legends and freakish young talent, the squad has managed to place top-3 at two of the big events on the year, with a win at the opening event in Las Vegas. They breezed through their past two weeks of Pro League with a 7-0 record, so they are coming in hot to Anaheim, and would be the team I would say has the best chance of taking home another title.

eUnited are a team that has been so close all year long, but just haven’t been able to get it done. With two second place finishes on the year at the three major events, they are certainly fed up with the taste of silver and will be coming for blood in Anaheim. They are also coming in off of a perfect 7-0 record in the Pro League, so I’m thinking it may end up being an OpTic/eUnited final.

The winners of the past CWL Event, 100 Thieves, are chalked full of talent with legit superstars filling out four of the five spots on the roster. They definitely have the ability to make a run for another title in Anaheim, but it seems like since their win in London they have been playing kind of sloppy, but have been getting away with it due to the fact that they are also so individually skilled.

If 100 Thieves is able to clean up their game a little bit, then they for sure stand a very good chance of taking their second title on the year.

The last team I would suggest taking a serious look at to come out on top in Cali would be the new look FaZe. Since they formed as a roster they have been one of the better teams in their half of the Pro League, sitting second in Division A with an 11-7 record. They have arguably the best Maddox duo in the league in skrapz and Cellium, and an all-around solid roster that may be one of the best in the CWL on paper.

FaZe have arguably the best Maddox duo in the league in skrapz and Cellium, and an all-around solid roster.

Like the other three, FaZe are rolling into Anaheim on a hot streak after finishing their last two weeks of Pro League with a 6-1 record, so if they keep the momentum rolling they can find their first title on the year.

Any combination of the four will probably be the two teams left standing in the finals, but let’s take a look at some teams that offer a bit more value that could potentially find themselves playing for a championship come Sunday.

Value Picks to Reach the Finals

Aside from the teams already mentioned, I would suggest looking at the following teams to reach the finals if you’re looking for more value: Evil Geniuses, Reciprocity, and Envy. All three rosters are coming off of reasonably recent changes, with Reciprocity making the most recent changes bringing in Denz off the bench as Tommey is taking some personal time.

The changes for all teams seem to be working, though, as they have had pretty good results at the Pro League in their respective weeks. If they are on their game any of the three could find themselves in the finals come Sunday.

Pick to Win: OpTic (+300)

Picks to Reach the Finals: OpTic (+100), eUnited (+125)

CWL Anaheim 2019 Group Odds

Which Group Will Produce the Winner at CWL Anaheim 2019? Odds
Group A +200
Group B +225
Group D +250
Group C +400

Which Group Will Produce the Winner?

This prop is a pretty hard one to call since each group has a team that realistically could end up winning, and every group other than Group C has a sleeper that could make some noise and potentially make a run.

If I was to give the edge to a group though, I would pick Group A. They might have the strongest pool other than maybe pool D, and since OpTic should make a good run in Anaheim I would say Group A is the best bet.

Pick: Group A (+200)
