With a 1-0 head-to-head record against Frances Tiafoe, Cameron Norrie is the slight favorite in Wednesday’s Norrie vs Tiafoe odds in their Indian Wells quarterfinal at 2:00 pm EDT.

No Drama for Norrie

A good draw had Norrie, the No. 10 seed, facing qualifiers in the first two rounds. But his most routine match came in the fourth round on Tuesday, when he dismissed No. 6 seed Andrey Rublev in straight sets.

Rublev’s success rate on his own second serve was woeful. But worse than that, he was unable to fend off any of the five break-point opportunities Norrie had on the Russian’s serve.

Norrie was a perfect 5-for-5. It took just an hour and 18 minutes.

For Tiafoe, who has gone under the radar in the desert, it’s been even smoother sailing.

He had a great draw – Marcos Giron, Jason Kubler, and qualifier Alejandro Tabilo in the fourth round.

Tiafoe has yet to drop a set.

Norrie vs Tiafoe Prediction

It’s hard to know how well Tiafoe is playing because he really hasn’t been tested much.

But we know what Norrie can do on the slow, gritty courts at Indian Wells. So it’s slightly surprising he’s not a stronger favorite.

Norrie vs Tiafoe Picks: Norrie in Three Sets (+270)

Medvedev vs Davidovich Fokina Odds

Player Spread Moneyline Total
[5] Daniil Medvedev (RUS) -4.5 (-130) -550 O 20.5 (-122)
[23] Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP) +4.5 (-102) +370 U 20.5 (-110)

It’s hard to predict how Medvedev will pull up from his near-disaster against Alexander Zverev in the round of 16 on Monday. But he is heavily favored n the Medvedev vs Davidovich Fokina odds on Wednesday.

Medvedev turned his ankle and crumpled to the ground. In the end, he was able to play through pain and get through.

The urgency of trying to avoid running on the ankle – which was heavily taped, something Medvedev said he has hardly ever done in his career – meant he got a lot more aggressive.

It did the trick.

But Medvedev’s first issue is to get down what was likely to be major swelling once the tape was off after the three-hour, 17-minute, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (5). 7-5 win.

In Two Losses, Davidovich Fokina Won the First Set

If there’s a silver lining in Davidovich Fokina’s two previous losses to Medvedev, it’s that he’s been able to win a set.

In both cases, the first set.

Things went south after that both times.

But Davidovich has belief.

And you would think Medvedev will come out rather gingerly to start this one, to test what will surely be more tape, and additional soreness merely from the marathon match.

Medvedev vs Davidovich Fokina Prediction

Medvedev is already on record (loudly) about how the slow courts at Indian Wells aren’t worthy of the name.

Davidovich Fokina doesn’t mind the slower courts.

It all adds up to a chance for the Spaniard.

And Medvedev is such a strong favorite in a match that sets up as complicated that it might be worth taking a chance on the upset.
