After a rained-out series opener against KT Wiz Suwon, the NC Dinos will be itching to get going on Sunday, Aug. 23, to help them stay clear of second-place Kiwoom Heroes, now only a game back after Saturday’s 4-3 win over the KIA Tigers.

The rain seems to be the only thing able to stymie the Dinos offense these days, after NC scored 24 runs in its back-to-back victories over the Tigers. But the Dinos get to go again at 4 a.m. ET.

Dinos A Decent Bet

Despite those 24 runs in the series sweep of the Tigers, NC is an underdog on Sunday against the Wiz. Much of that can be attributed to the pitching matchup, where Suwon rookie Hyeong Jun So will be hoping to harness both his recent form and his previous knowledge of the Dinos.

The 18-year-old went six innings against NC back on July 17, in his only time facing the Dinos, giving up five hits and two earned runs in six innings during a 3-3 tie. But the right-hander has gone from strength to strength since then, winning all three starts in the interim, and giving up just one earned run across 17.2 innings.

NC will be going with Sung Young Choi, a 23-year-old right-hander who will make his first start against the Wiz this season. Choi is 2-2 with a 4.92 ERA on the season, just a tad worse than So’s 4.64 ERA.

But given the run support Choi is likely to have, with the Dinos averaging 6.28 runs per game on the road this season, NC represents good value here. And with the Wiz averaging 6.39 runs per game at home, take the over too.

Pick: Dinos (+112); O 11.5 (+104)

Choi Has Giants’ Number

The Lions may be in something of a slump, having lost five of their last seven games, but there is hope on the horizon for Sunday’s matchup with the Lotte Giants in the shape of Chae Heung Choi.

Though he’s locked into an intimidating pitching matchup, going up against former journeyman MLB pitcher Dan Straily, Choi has shown mastery over the Giants lineup so far this season.

This will be his third time up against Lotte, and if it goes anything like the first two, the Lions represent a good bet with plus value at +152. In his first meeting with Lotte, back in May, Choi pitched seven innings of three-hit ball, before making way for a bullpen that ultimately coughed up the game in a 1-0 loss.

Last time out, on July 17, Choi gave up two earned runs across 6.2 innings, before making way for the relievers who ultimately managed to hang on for a wild 15-10 victory.

For Straily, Sunday will be his fourth meeting with the Lions this year, and he has gone 1-0 with a 2.29 ERA in those games.

Pick: Lions (+152)
