  • The 10-team Korea Baseball Organization is back in action on Wednesday, with all five games scheduled for 5:30 AM ET
  • After the Doosan Bears defeated the Lotte Giants on Tuesday, there are no more unbeaten teams

If you had the Lotte Giants running the table in the Korea Baseball Organization (seriously, can you imagine what those odds would be?), go ahead and rip up that ticket. The KBO is now rid of all unbeatens, after the Doosan Bears handled the Giants in their matchup on Tuesday morning.

Now there are three one-loss teams crowded atop the KBO table. Upon a review of Tuesday’s scores, which featured a trio of one-run games, it’s clear that anything can happen on any given day in the KBO.

Here’s a look at the five-game slate for Wednesday, when all games are set to begin at 5:30 AM ET (2:30 AM PT).

Let The Slugfest Ensue

Yesterday, I alluded to the Bears vs. Giants matchup as the one to watch, particularly for those keen on offensive firepower.

Both teams delivered, with an 11-6 win for the Bears easily clearing the 9.5 over/under run total. That total has been boosted to 10.5 for Wednesday — the highest line we’ve seen so far this season — but it’s still well within reach for the league’s top-two offenses.

Doosan and Lotte are batting .341 and .307, respectively. They combined for 35 hits on Tuesday. These marks are absolutely not sustainable, but it’s clear both teams are highly skilled at the plate.

Both team’s starters are coming off impressive season debuts, but Doosan’s Young-ha Lee should have the edge. The 22-year-old earned the win while allowing two runs in seven innings against the Giants in his most recent matchup against them.

Pick: Doosan Bears -1.5 (-105); Over 10.5 (-130)

Twins Face Tough Test

The LG Twins are finally scoring in bunches, posting 19 runs in their past two games (after only 10 runs in their previous three games). The result has been a pair of wins, bringing them back to an even 3-3 record.

They might have a bit of difficulty staying productive against SK Wyverns starter Ricardo Pinto, who allowed only three hits and one run in 6 2/3 innings in his KBO debut last week.

Pinto, 26, struggled mightily in his minimal MLB experience. But before coming to Korea, he posted a 3.68 ERA across all minor league levels. That’s legit.

Still, SK has scored only 22 runs through six games. Count on Pinto to perform, but his offense to struggle — allowing the Twins to earn a low-scoring win.

Pick: LG Twins -1.5 (+150); Under 9.5 (-120)

Beware The Long Ball

The NC Dinos have hit more home runs than any other team this year, with 12. Their opponent, KT Wiz Suwon, has allowed 10 home runs — tied for the most in the KBO.

That’s a favorable concoction for the Dinos. And it helps that their power is balanced, with four players who’ve already hit multiple home runs (no other team has more than two).

NC won the first game of this series. With the long ball, they can do it again.

Pick: NC Dinos -1.5 (+105)
