Traktor And Amur Will Light The Lamp

There’s has been a low total set for this clash between Traktor and Amur at Platinum Arena, which presents great value when you consider that the Khabarovsk offense is one of the hottest in the KHL. Amur has scored four or more goals in three straight games, including putting up seven in a huge upset win over AK Bars on Wednesday.

Traktor’s offense has been fairly average this season (2.6 GF/GP), but they’re also lighting the lamp recently and have scored four or more goals in two of their last three games.  This game will feature six players who have already surpassed the 10-point mark this season, including Amur’s Vladimir Butuzov and Alexander L. Gorshkov, in addition to Traktor’s Tomas Hyka, Sergei Kalinin, Lukas Sedlak, and Nick Bailen.

In the lone meeting between these two teams this season, it was all Traktor in a 5-0 loss. We know Chelyabinsk has the offensive weapons to score on this defense again, but we also know Amur’s offense is red-hot and will be motivated to turn in a better showing this time around. Expect plenty of goals scored in this one.

Pick: Traktor vs Amur Over 4.5 Goals (-150)

Vitaly Podolsk Takes Down Sochi At Home

It’s a battle between two of the worst defensive teams in the league when Sochi and Vitaly Podolsk faceoff at Vityaz Ice Palace in Podolsk. Sochi sits 10th in the Western Conference with 10 points through 17 games, while Vityaz is eighth in the conference with 17 points in the same amount of games played.

Fading Sochi against good offensive teams is a strategy that has already paid off nicely for bettors. This Sochi defense has allowed the most goals out of any team in the conference (3.29 GA/GP) and has a struggling goaltending tandem of Joel Lassinantti and Maxim Tretyak.

Vitaly Podolsk also has one of the worst defenses in the conference (3.00 GAA/GP), but at least they have a high-powered offense and one of the better goaltenders in the league in KHL veteran Ilya Ezhov. Vitaly’s top-heavy offense that features Justin Danforth, Kaspars Daugavins, Mattias Tedenby, and Alexander Semin has helped the team score at least three goals in three of their last four outings.

Sochi has been shutout in back-to-back games and now has to try and contain this lethal Podolsk attack on the road. Vitaly is coming off a 4-3 victory over Salavat Yulaev Ufa and have won four straight over HC Sochi at home. Trust Vitaly Podolsk’s dangerous offense to feast on Sochi’s weak defense and extend that streak to five.

Pick: Vitaly Podolsk ML (-186)
