NC is on the verge of claiming the KBO championship. The Dinos shut out defending champion Doosan 5-0 in Game 5, handing Chris Flexen his first loss in over two months.

Chang Mo Koo returned to his pre-injury form by silencing the Bears’ bats, throwing 7 scoreless innings, while striking out five.

NC now leads the Korean Series 3-2 and can clinch the title on Tuesday, at 4:30 am EST.

KBO Korean Series Odds: Game 6

Team Moneyline Runline Over/Under Run Total Game Time (Eastern)
Doosan Bears +116 +1.5 (-192) Over 7.5 (+100) 4:30 a.m.
NC Dinos -140 -1.5 (+150) Under 7.5 (-128)

Odds as of Nov. 23rd at FanDuel.

The Dinos opened up as a -140 moneyline favorite in a rematch of the Game 1 starting pitching matchup. 19-game winner Drew Rucinski will get the ball for NC, while Doosan will counter with pitcher of the year Raul Alcantara, who hasn’t been himself so far in the postseason.

Will the Real Raul Alcantara Please Stand Up?

After closing the regular season with 10 straight victories, Alcantara has struggled in each of his three playoff starts. He lasted just 4.1 innings in his debut versus LG, surrendering four runs, 3 homers and 6 hits. He followed up that performance with a loss against KT Wiz, and was tagged for four runs and five hits in a losing effort in the opener of the Korean Series.

He surrendered a home run and hit two Dino batters in Game 1, which highlights the command issues he’s had throughout the postseason. In 17 innings over his last three outings, he’s allowed 26 baserunners.

If Doosan has any hope of repeating as champions, they’ll need Alcantara to be virtually flawless on Tuesday.

Short Rest for Rucinski

Rucinski meanwhile, will be starting on just two days rest, after throwing 2.2 innings in Game 4 to help secure an NC victory. He didn’t allow a baserunner in his most recent outing, and struck out four of the eight batters he faced.

He was solid in Game 1 as well, giving up a single earned run over 5.1 innings, while striking out four en route to a 5-3 victory.

After finishing second in the regular season in runs scored, the Bears offense has disappeared in the playoffs. They’ve been shut out in back-to-back games, and have crossed the plate four times or less in eight of their 11 postseason outings.

NC Wraps Up First Ever Title

The way both of these two teams are trending, it’s hard to imagine NC not closing out the series on Tuesday. Rucinski is firing on all cylinders, while both Alcantara and the Bears bats are struggling.

The -140 moneyline is more than fair, especially when you consider you’re getting the home team, and the starter in better recent form.

The Dinos have outscored the defending champs 8-0 over the past two games, and in what could be our final pick of the season, I like NC on the moneyline to raise the trophy.

Pick: NC Dinos moneyline (-140)
