  • The Los Angeles Dodgers are -260 favorites as they open a three-game weekend series against the Colorado Rockies
  • LA has won four in a row and 10 of its last 11 games against Colorado
  • They’ve also won 17 of the last 18 games when facing the Rockies at Dodger Stadium

Total dominance. There’s no other way to describe the hold the Los Angeles Dodgers have over the Colorado Rockies.

Then again, entering play Wednesday with an MLB-best 28-10 record, you could pretty much say the same thing about any team the Dodgers have faced this season.

LA had won four in a row and were 8-2 over the past 10 games. The Dodgers are 13-5 at home and 15-5 on the road. They owned an MLB-best +94 run differential. That’s 41 runs better than the second-best team. LA had allowed an MLB-low 119 runs.

No wonder the Dodgers are listed as -260 favorites to win Friday’s game against Colorado in the Rockies vs Dodgers odds as they open a three-game weekend set at Dodger Stadium (9:40 pm ET).

Playoff Preview?

The way things are playing out, there’s a strong possibility that this could be a first-round matchup in the MLB playoffs. That’s all kinds of bad news for the Rockies.

Overall, Colorado has lost four in a row to the Dodgers. The Rockies have dropped 10 of 11 games to the boys in Dodger Blue.

To make matters worse for Colorado, under the MLB playoff rules, all game in this best-of-three Wildcard Round series would be played at Dodger Stadium. Colorado has also four games in a row there.

In fact, the Rockies have dropped 16 of their last 17 games at Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers swept a three-game series played there Aug. 21-23, outscoring Colorado 20-7.

The last time these two teams met, LA clouted seven home runs during an 11-3 rout.

May Day for LA

Dustin May turned in a stellar effort Aug. 22 against the Rockies. The 22-year-old right-hander allowed just two hits and one run over five innings. He didn’t figure in the decision in a 4-3 Dodgers victory.

Though he’s without a verdict in two appearances, May owns an impressive 1.50 ERA and 0.667 WHIP against Colorado.
