Patrick Mix takes on Magomed Magomedov in what should be a tightly contested Bantamweight Grand Prix semifinal. Pairing Magomedov to come out with the victory at -125 odds with Juliana Velasquez at -165 makes for a nice +189 Bellator 289 parlay.

Stots vs Sabatello Odds & Predictions

In a much anticipated match-up, interim Bellator bantamweight champion Raufeon Stots (18-1) takes on Danny Sabatello (13-1) in the main event of the evening. Both men are sure to have Friday’s date circled on the calendar has they’ve sparred back and forth on social media for months in the lead-up to this bout. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and the main event is sure to finally see their bad blood spill into the cage.

Stots is on an impressive run. He’s currently on a 10-fight win streak spread across Legacy Fighting Alliance and Bellator.

Stots is 6-0 in Bellator, including notable victories against Magomed Magomedov in 2021 and a spectacular knockout of Juan Archuleta for the interim championship earlier this year.

Fighting out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, Danny Sabatello is on a seven fight win streak.

While he may not be the most exciting fighter stylistically, Sabatello is more than capable of grinding out victories on the mat with his superior wrestling skills.

Unfortunately for Sabatello, Raufeon Stots has more than enough ability to deal with his opponent’s most potent weapon thanks to his several Division II wrestling titles. The American Top Team fighters’ path to victory lies in slowing down the pace of the fight and grinding out the victory.

Stots must demonstrate that his dynamic, fast-paced attack is capable of defeating a one-dimensional opponent. Having said that, the Houston, Texas native has far more avenues to victory.

Bellator 289 Pick: Raufeon Stots to win (-140)

Liz Carmouche vs Juliana Velasquez Odds & Predictions

A veteran of one of the most important fights in women’s combat sports history, Liz Carmouche once again enters the cage at Bellator 289.

If you recall, Carmouche was in the cage for the UFC’s first ever women’s MMA fight versus Ronda Rousey. Now a champion for the first time in her career, Carmouche will surely wish to keep the momentum rolling. After finishing Juliana Velasquez by elbows in April, Carmouche will look to defend her belt in the rematch.

Velasquez, on the other hand, will try to establish that the Bellator 278 fight ended prematurely.

Velasquez went so far as to appeal the result of the first match-up. Now, she has a chance to avenge the first set back of her career. We like Velasquez to grind out the victory.

Bellator 289 Pick: Juliana Velasquez to win (-165)
