The Ultimate Fighting Championship remains on Fight Island for UFC Fight Island 4 that goes down on Saturday, October 3.

In the main event, former bantamweight champion, Holly Holm takes on the rising contender in Irene Aldana where the winner could very well earn the next crack at the belt. The co-main event sees heavyweight knockout artists go at it as Yorgan De Castro battles Carlos Felipe.

UFC Fight Island 4 main card airs live on ESPN at 10:30 pm ET. The table below shows odds for the main card at FanDuel and DraftKings, followed by best bets for the event.

Will the Winner Earn a Title Shot?

Holly Holm and Irene Aldana were originally supposed to headline a card in Las Vegas on August 1. Yet, Aldana tested positive for COVID-19 leaving the fight to be delayed for two months.

Holm & Aldana Recent Fights

Holm
VS
Aldana
Raquel Pennington, win by decision Fight 1 Ketlen Vieira, win by KO
Amanda Nunes, loss by KO Fight 2 Vanessa Melo, win by decision
Megan Anderson, win by decision Fight 3 Raquel Pennington, loss by split decision
Cris Cyborg, loss by decision Fight 4 Bethe Correia, win by submission

This is a perfect next step for Aldana to see if she is a legit contender at 135-pounds as only the top females get past Holly Holm. “The Preachers Daughter” is a solid kickboxer who is always dangerous on the feet but Aldana showed in her last fight she does have knockout power. The Mexican in Aldana is the better grappler but Holm is someone who is tough to takedown so expect this fight to remain standing for the most part.

Early on, expect Holm to use leg kicks and body kicks to try and slow down the movement of Aldana who should have the cardio advantage as well. Although Holm did KO Ronda Rousey, she has not shown much knockout power in her last couple of fights. So, expect Holm to start out strong but as the fight plays out, Aldana will figure out the distance and start piecing Holm apart. Aldana is the better fighter at this point in their careers and should be able to win the last three rounds to edge out a decision and become the number one contender at bantamweight.

The odds to me are right as it truly is a pick’em fight but Aldana has all the momentum and confidence and at +105 at DraftKings is a very good line.

Pick: Irene Aldana (+105)

Who Lands the KO Punch First?

Don’t blink as this heavyweight fight between Yorgan De Castro and Carlos Felipe likely won’t last long.

De Castro & Felipe Recent Fights

De Castro
VS
Felipe
Greg Hardy, loss by decision Fight 1 Sergey Spivak, loss by decision
Justin Tafa, win by KO Fight 2 Sandro Bezerra, win by TKO
Alton Meeks, win by TKO Fight 3 Isais Silva, win by KO
Carlton Little, win by decision Fight 4 Wagner Maia, win by decision

This fight doesn’t really make sense to be the co-main event but the UFC has been high on Yorgan De Castro and are likely looking to get him a big win in the co-main event.

De Castro is known for his leg kicks so expect him to start the fight off by going after Felipe. Once the leg is damaged, De Castro then starts to go for the head and when Felipe rushes in to look for his own KO, will get countered and knocked out in the first. This fight really comes down to who lands first and De Castro is the faster and more powerful puncher. Yet, I wouldn’t lay -265 on him.

Pick: Yorgan De Castro (-265)

Other UFC Fight Island 4 Picks:

  1. Germaine de Randamie (-112): De Randamie will use her kickboxing to outpoint Pena and earn a decision win.
  2. Dusko Todorovic (-315): Townsend is not UFC caliber and Todorovic will find the KO punch in the second or third round.
  3. Court McGee (-130): Condit is on a five-fight losing streak and hasn’t looked like himself. Expect McGee to keep the fight standing and pick apart Condit to earn a decision.
