The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) remains in Las Vegas for UFC Vegas 14 on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the UFC Apex.

In the main event, former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos returns to his old stomping grounds to face perennial contender Paul Felder on short notice. The co-main event sees welterweight knockout artists Abdul Razak Alhassan and Khaos Williams square off.

UFC Vegas 14 main card airs live on ESPN+ at 7:00 PM EST. The table below shows odds for the main card at FanDuel and DraftKings, followed by best bets for the event.

How Will RDA Look At Lightweight?

Paul Felder to the rescue. Originally, Rafael dos Anjos was set to take on Islam Makhachev, who is Khabib Nurmagomedov’s protégée. However, Makhachev pulled out on Sunday, and on Monday, it was revealed Felder agreed to the fight on five days’ notice.

Felder & dos Anjos Recent Fights

Felder
VS
dos Anjos
Dan Hooker, loss by split decision Fight 1 Michael Chiesa, loss by decision
Edson Barboza, win by split decision Fight 2 Leon Edwards, loss by decision
James Vick, win by decision Fight 3 Kevin Lee, win by submission
Mike Perry, loss by split decision Fight 4 Kamaru Usman, loss by decision

Rafael dos Anjos started out his welterweight tenure going 3-0 and got an interim welterweight title fight against Colby Covington, but lost by decision which, started a 1-4 streak. However, he has only fought top contenders like Leon Edwards, Michael Chiesa, and the current champion, Kamaru Usman, so he may not be past his prime as some suggest.

Entering the fight the big question mark is what is Paul Felder’s gas tank will look like as well as how RDA will look at lightweight. Although Felder is taking this on short notice he has been training for a triathlon. So, I do believe his cardio will be there. Meanwhile, for dos Anjos, he does look a lot slimmer and should make 155 with ease.

Felder vs dos Anjos Stats

Felder

36 Age 36
5’11” Height 5’8″
70.5″ Reach 70″
5 UFC finishes 8

To me, this is a much better fight and a more competitive fight than the original of RDA vs Makhachev.

Early on, I expect this to be a kickboxing fight with Felder using his jab and leg kicks to score points and win the early rounds. However, I do expect dos Anjos to eventually shoot for takedowns but, Felder will stuff them and just outpoint dos Anjos on the feet to win a decision.

At +143, I think that is a phenomenal price as I wouldn’t be surprised to see this close at a near pick’em.

Pick: Paul Felder (+143)

Who Lands The KO Punch?

Abdul Razak Alhassan vs Khaos Williams will likely end in the first round and could come down to who lands first.

Alhassan & Williams Recent Fights

Alhassan
VS
Williams
Mounir Lazzez, loss by decision Fight 1 Alex Morono, win by TKO
Niko Price, win by KO Fight 2 Jeremie Holloway, win by decision
Sabah Homasi, win by KO Fight 3 Bo Yan, win by TKO
Sabah Homasi, win by TKO Fight 4 Ladarius Jackson, win by submission

First off, the odds are way too high on this fight. Although I do believe Alhassan should be favored, he should be around -160 with the comeback on Williams at +130.

Alhassan had a disappointing performance last time out, but that was his first fight in over two years. This time around, I expect him to look like his old self where Williams will blitz in early and get met with a right hook that drops Williams. I don’t expect it to last long, but I think Alhassan is the more technical and powerful striker. Look for a knock out in the first by Alhassan.

Pick: Abdul Razak Alhassan (-240)

Other UFC Vegas 14 Picks:

  1. Julian Marquez (-320):  Marquez hasn’t fought in over two and a half years but this is a total mismatch. Expect Marquez to win by KO early.
  2. Eryk Anders (-152): Anders should be able to keep this fight standing and earn a decision win.
  3. Brendan Allen (N/A): This fight was announced on Monday. On offshore books, Allen is around a +110 underdog and I like him to use his wrestling to earn a decision win.
