Miami Heat (-3, 188.5 o/u) at New York Knicks

After they were destroyed at home by the Golden State Warriors (114-97), the Miami Heat have had five days to prepare their next game against the New York Knicks on Sunday, November 30, at MSG (7:30 p.m. Eastern).

The Heat (8-7) will miss guard Dwayne Wade for an eighth straight game. The ailing and aging point guard is suffering from a lingering hamstring injury and has already missed seven games this season. Miami has felt the effect, going just 3-4 without D-Wade.

Mario Chalmers has done a decent job replacing Wade’s offense, averaging 14.6 PPG, but he can’t run the offense like #3, and Miami lacks the depth to fill the gaps. Chris Bosh has maintained his solid play, leading the Heat in points (21.7 PPG), rebounds (8.8 RPG), and blocks (0.7). But it hasn’t been enough to keep the Heat winning games without their floor captain.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks are just 4-13 on the year and are suffering from their own injury problems. Carmelo Anthony for offense, the team’s go-to scorer, is doubtful for the game with back spasms. Anthony leads the Knicks in scoring with 23.5 points per game. Without him, the Knicks lost last Wednesday against Dallas (109-102) with Jose Calderon tying to pick up the slack. In Oklahoma City on Friday, the Knicks were run out of the building, 105-78, by the Thunder (who welcomed Russell Westbrook back to the fold). Amare Stoudemire led the Knicks with 20 points.

The Knicks have home court advantage tonight, but it hasn’t counted for much this year, as the Knicks are just 3-5 at MSG.

The Heat will miss Wade, but the Knicks will miss Carmelo more. Bet Miami in a close one.
