A rematch of a different kind takes place in Atlanta as the Sixers look to rid the memories of last postseason.

There’s a contest of the league’s tankers in Texas as the Magic pay the Rockets a visit. Houston won’t be favored much this season, but they are for this one.

The Pels are also in Texas, facing the Dallas Mavericks, while the up-and-down Boston Celtics matchup with the Utah Jazz. LeBron James is in line for his return against the Clippers as the Lakers look to build some momentum.

Odds as of Dec 3rd at FanDuel

Sabonis Scores and Boards

Indiana is much better than the 9-15 record suggests. They are favored for this game with the Miami Heat, who are without Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Adebayo’s injury leaves Miami lacking size, shunting Dewayne Dedmon into a much larger role and leaving them vulnerable to the bully ball of Domantas Sabonis on Friday night.

Sabonis’ averages take him to over 29 points and rebounds per game. The line is set at 28.5 for this one, likely justified by the Heat’s defensive reputation and their slow pace. In minutes without Adebayo and Butler, though, they up their pace slightly, and Kyle Lowry will look to push the ball in transition frequently.

While the Pacers have lost four of five, Sabonis has recorded 29 or more points and rebounds in five of his last seven. He ranks ninth in total rebound percentage on the year, and will have opportunities to take advantage of smaller matchups against Miami. The former Thunder big man has notched an outrageous 63 boards across his last four games.

Sabonis almost reached this total in just rebounds a couple of games ago. Another performance like that might be unlikely, but with the Heat’s depleted frontcourt, he’s posed to supplement that dominance on the glass with plenty of scoring.

  • Pick: Domantas Sabonis Over 28.5 points and rebounds (-104)

Anthony Dominates Houston

Cole Anthony is coming off a 24-point, eight-rebound, seven-assist game. That was his first game back after a short absence, but this carries on a season-long trend for the Magic guard. While Jalen Suggs has disappointed, and is now sidelined long-term, Anthony has been aggressive, averaging just shy of 20 points per night.

In minutes that Anthony is on the floor without Suggs, he owns a 28.9% usage rate. That would rank above Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, James Harden and Damian Lillard for the season.

Anthony has only gone over this points and assists total three times in the last five games. Those games have not been against these Rockets, though, and there are going to be plenty of extra possessions for the former Tar Heel to pack the box score – Houston and Orlando both rank in the top five in pace over the last 10.

This is a game where the sophomore guard should easily exceed his season average of 16.4 field goal attempts per contest. Add in the impressive assist numbers of late, and he should cruise past this number.

  • Pick: Cole Anthony over 26.5 points and assists (-122)
