The NBA schedule is light for Tuesday with just five games on the docket – the most interesting of which being the Los Angeles Clippers visiting the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Clippers (40-19) are in third place in the Western Conference, 3.5 games behind the first-place Utah Jazz, and have won eight of their last nine games. They are 8.5-point road favorites Tuesday.

The Trail Blazers (32-24 finds themselves in sixth place in the West and trying to avoid the play-in round. Portland is skidding, having lost three of its last four games and six of its past eight.

Here is a rundown of the key injuries to be aware Tuesday.

NBA Injury News – April 20th

  • 6:30pm EST – Kawhi Leonard was ruled out Tuesday to the surprise of many, and will be re-evaluated next week
  • Nets forward Kevin Durant will not play against the Pelicans because of a thigh injury
  • Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard will sit out with a hamstring injury against the Clippers; Jusuf Nurkic is also out for Portland
  • Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to play versus the Kings after injuring his knee Sunday

The Magic’s Terrence Ross (back) was hurting so badly Monday that he was unable to come into the team’s practice facility. Ross did not make the trip to Atlanta but could return Thursday when the New Orleans Pelicans visit Orlando. Like Ross, James Ennis (calf) will miss a second straight game.

Danilo Gallinari (foot), De’Andre Hunter (knee) and Tony Snell (ankle) are all out for the Hawks. However, there is hope Hunter might return Wednesday against the Knicks in New York following a 15-game absence.

Kevin Durant (calf) has been ruled out for the Nets after being injured in the opening minutes of Sunday’s game against the Miami Heat. Also for Brooklyn, Reggie Perry and Nicolas Claxton learned Monday they will be forced to sit out this game for NBA health and safety protocols.

The Pelicans’ James Johnson (adductor) is doubtful after being injured Sunday against the Knicks.

The Hornets might get Devonte Graham (quadriceps) back for this game as he is listed as questionable after missing the previous two games. Malik Monk and Nate Darling are out with ankle injuries.

Alec Burks will miss a third straight game for the Knicks because of health and safety protocols.

Karl-Anthony Towns left Sunday’s loss at the Los Angeles Clippers but was not listed on the Timberwolves’ injury report Monday. Jaylen Nowell (leg) has been unavailabe the last two games and is doubtful Tuesday.

For the Kings, Richaun Holmes (hamstring) and Robert Woodard (back) have been ruled out.

Serge Ibaka, who has been out since March 14 with a back injury, won’t play at Portland but is getting closer to a return. It’s possible he could see action Wednesday at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Damian Lilliard (hamstring) will sit out his third straight game for the Trail Blazers. Josef Nurkic won’t play for injury management.
