  • The Milwaukee Bucks (43-14) are the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
  • The Philadelphia 76ers are close behind and rank third in the NBA in scoring at 115.9 PPG.
  • The Tobias Harris trade makes the Sixers a legitimate title threat.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are picking up steam based on the latest NBA Championship odds.

The Milwaukee Bucks were going off at +9000 back in July. At that price, they would have been a good bet. At this one? Not so much. Despite the greatness of Antetokounmpo, the Bucks don’t appear to be a real threat to the Warriors (-230). That doesn’t mean there isn’t great value on the board however, you just need to travel farther East to find it.

Philadelphia 76ers Title Contenders?

Will anyone be able to match the five pack the Warriors put out on the floor? Maybe not, but the Philadelphia 76ers sure boast a similar amount of fire power. After adding Tobias Harris at the deadline, they now have four legitimate threats to take over a game. Choose who to guard: Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler or Harris. It’s not a decision most coaches would enjoy making.

The 76ers rank third in the league in scoring at 115.9 points per game. Now add Harris and his 20.7 to the mix and see them climb even higher, maybe ever higher than the Warriors.

Road to the Finals Free and Clear

The Eastern Conference appears to be wide open. The Bucks are great and so to are the Raptors (when Kawhi Leonard plays), but neither team strikes fear in you the way that certain teams out West can. In a series against either of those teams or the rocky Celtics, this new-look Sixers squad should enter as favorites.

Philadelphia has more than 20 games left in the Regular Season to boost their standing and perhaps earn home court in the first round. Over that stretch, they’ll also be able to iron out any kinks to be in peak form come the playoffs, which is exactly the team you’re looking for when making a futures bet.

76ers Value Will Never Be Better

Consider the 76ers peers in the odds above. They’re barely above the one man show in Houston and currently have odds equal to the Los Angeles Lakers, who are in jeopardy of missing the playoffs.

When making a futures bet you’re weighing two things: who actually has a chance to win and who is paying a price worth taking a risk on? The 76ers check both of those boxes comfortably at the moment, but the latter may not be for long. Once this post-deadline unit gels, it shouldn’t take the odds makers long to make the adjustment. Their combination of young stars and quality veterans will make the league take notice.

Final Verdict

The Warriors are clear favorites for a reason, but offer little to no value at the current price tag. The Bucks, Raptors, and Celtics may be threats, but they can’t be taken nearly as seriously as the new-look 76ers.

Pick: Philadelphia 76ers to Win the 2019 NBA Championship (+1100)
