Dame Shines Again
Damian Lillard led the way for the Trail Blazers at Detroit, scoring 33 points and dishing 10 assists. It was the 12th double-double of the season for Lillard, who made 5-of-7 from three-point range. He has also scored 30 or more points in seven of the last 12 games.
At 29.8 points a game, Lillard is second in the NBA in scoring behind the Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal, who has a 31.3 average.

Lillard’s backcourt, CJ McCollum, added 24 points. McCollum has scored more than 20 points in four straight games and is averaging 26.0 in that span.
Robert Covington stretched his streak of double-figure scoring game to a season-high five as he finished with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals. Covington knocked down 4-of-5 shots from beyond the arc as his offense seems to be catching up with his defense.

Carmelo Anthony also scored 16 points for Portland, which shot 51.2% (42-of-82) from the field and 53.3% (16-of-30) from long range.
The Trail Blazers forced the Pistons into 16 turnovers.
Happy Holiday Homecoming
Southern California native Jrue Holiday had a big game against the Lakers, finishing with 28 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals. Holiday matched his season high in scoring.

Holliday made 11-of-17 field goal attempts as the Bucks shot 53.2% (42-of-79) overall and 53.8% (14-of-26) from three-point range. That helped Milwaukee in a sloppy game in which each team had 22 turnovers.
Giannis Antetokounmpo added 25 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots, notching his 31st double-double of the season. Khris Middleton added 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds.
The Bucks played without two key reserves — Bobby Portis and PJ Tucker — for a fourth straight game. Portis is sidelined by the NBA’s health and safety protocols while Tucker has a strained left calf.

The Bucks will have a new player for the bench after guard Jeff Teague signed Wednesday as a free agent. He was waived by Orlando Magic last week following his acquisition from the Boston Celtics in the Evan Fournier trade.
Teague is averaging 6.9 points, 2.1 assists and 18.1 minutes in 25 games this season. He gives the Bucks the backup point guard they have been missing since trading DJ Augustin to the Rockets on March 19 for Tucker.
Lopsided Series
The Bucks have won four games in a row against the Trail Blazers by an average of 25 points, and have taken eight of the last nine meetings.
On Feb. 1 in Milwaukee, the Bucks rolled to a 134-106 victory in the teams’ lone meeting so far this season. The Bucks easily covered the 10-point spread behind 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals by Holiday.
Holiday was 10-of-14 shooting as the Bucks made 55.2% (53-of-96) of their field goal attempts. Portis scored 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting, Antetokounmpo added 18 points and six assists while making 8-of-11 shots and Middleton was 5-for-6 as he finished with 17 points.
Playing without McCollum, the Trail Blazers were paced by Nassir Little’s career-high 30 points. Little has a 4.2 season scoring average.
The Trail Blazers are playing much better now, though, and look ready to turn the tables on the Bucks.
The Pick: Trail Blazers +3.5 (-110)
