Two familiar foes in the Eastern Conference will clash on Friday night at the TD Garden as the Chicago Bulls (5-4, 2-2 away) visit the Boston Celtics (4-3, 2-1 home) for a marquee matchup. The tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET. This contest can be seen on ESPN.

Chicago is currently enjoying a two-game winning streak, beating the Nets and Hornets on back-to-back nights earlier this week. As for the C’s, they lost an overtime thriller to the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

The Celtics are a 7.5-point home favorite for Friday with moneyline odds of -320. They’re just 3-4 against the spread though. The Bulls meanwhile sit at +260 odds and have posted a 5-3 record ATS.

Chicago already collected a statement win over Boston in late October by a score of 120-102. But, the C’s won two of three in 2021-22.

Can Bulls Keep It Rolling?

While Chicago did make the playoffs last season, the one glaring issue was their inability to beat other contenders. So far, that doesn’t look to be a problem in 2022-23. Billy Donovan’s squad took down the Heat on Opening Night and has also defeated the Nets and Celtics.

On Wednesday, the Bulls annihilated a depleted Charlotte team 106-88, and the most impressive part is star duo DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine combined for just 19 points in total. Chicago’s depth truly shone through, with Javonte Green’s 17 points off the bench leading the charge.

In fact, six different players scored a minimum of 10 points. Not having to rely strictly on DeRozan and LaVine is a very positive sign, even though the opponent was shorthanded. The Bulls also shot an impressive 45% from three-point land en route to victory.

Boston Looking for Revenge

The Celtics were frankly outplayed in their last meeting with Chicago and will be looking to avenge that loss, where they struggled to contain DeRozan and Co. inside the paint. Also, Joe Mazzulla’s group just dropped a heartbreaking game to the Cavs on the road, truly going back and forth with Cleveland all night long.

You couldn’t ask for any more from the star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who combined for a whopping 56 points. Brown balled out for a team-high 30, while Tatum had 26, including a game-tying dunk to push the contest to OT. Both of these teams struggled to shoot it from deep, with most of the damage coming inside.

The C’s defense just couldn’t contain Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland enough. The latter was in his bag, posting 29 points and dishing out 12 dimes. Brown actually had the chance to win it at the buzzer in the final period, but his jumper clanked off the back of the rim. If Boston can control the paint and find their usual stroke from beyond the arc, they’ll definitely be in line to get back in the win column here.

Bulls vs Celtics Prediction

I’m really on the Bulls train lately. Given how well this group is playing, a seven-point spread feels steep. That’s why Chicago against the spread is the best bet here. It might be worth even splashing some cash on the moneyline as well considering the value.

Picks: Bulls +7.5 (-112) & moneyline (+260)
