Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Trends

The roller coaster ride that has proven to be Cleveland’s season so far is currently in a downward spiral. The Cavaliers have endured a four-game slide since ending their eight-game win streak.

During that previous run of success, Cleveland posted a pair of victories over the reigning Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics. Guard Donovan Mitchell is leading the team with 31.6 points per game. That’s good for fifth in the NBA Teamed with fellow NBA All-Star Darius Garland, the 1-2 punch of the Cavs’ backcourt is devastating.

Mitchell missed the last game with an ankle sprain. All-Star center Jarrett Allen (ankle) was also out. As well, Cleveland was missing guard Ricky Rubio (knee), and forwards Dean Wade (knee) and Dylan Windler (ankle), leaving the Cavaliers with just 11 players dressed.

Garland scored a career-high 51 points, but couldn’t prevent a home-court loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Milwaukee Bucks Betting Trends

The Bucks are dealing with injury concerns of their own. Small forward Khris Middleton (wrist) and shooting guards Joe Ingles (knee) and Wesley Matthews (hamstring) are out.

PG Jrue Holiday (ankle) and SG Pat Connaughton (calf) are questionable. SG Grayson Allen (ankle) is doubtful. The status of guard AJ Green (nose) is uncertain.

After missing two games due to a sore left knee, two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, a top contender in this season’s NBA MVP odds, scored 27 points in 31 minutes during a home loss to the Atlanta Hawks. He was just 8-of-21 from the field. Milwaukee shot a dismal 6-of-29 from 3-point range in the setback. For the season, Giannis is leading the Bucks, scoring 31.3 PPG.

Cavaliers vs Bucks Prediction

Among Cleveland’s walking wounded, all but Mitchell and Wade are out for this game. Mitchell will be a game-time decision, while Wade is listed as doubtful.

Cleveland has jumped from 20th last season to third in the NBA this season in scoring, but that’s with Mitchell in the lineup. The Cavaliers own an Eastern Conference-leading +6.8 point differential.

Milwaukee is 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS at home this season. The Bucks are also 7-1 SU and ATS in the past eight home games against the Cavaliers. Milwaukee is 8-3 ATS as a betting favorite this season.

Pick: Milwaukee Bucks -3.5 (-110)
