Wednesday’s slate across the league is jam-packed with games but perhaps the most intriguing of the lot is the Boston Celtics (4-2, 2-1 away) visiting the red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers (5-1, 3-0 home) at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The tip-off is set for 7:30 pm ET and can be seen on ESPN.

Boston is coming off a big 112-94 win over the Washington Wizards, ending a two-game losing skid. As for the Cavs, they lost their season opener but have won five in a row since, beating the Knicks over the weekend. Both teams come into this matchup well-rested, last playing on Sunday evening.

Celtics Betting Trends

Boston is off to a 4-2 start and has a chance to get revenge for their loss to Cleveland last week here. The C’s bounced back with authority Sunday, grabbing a statement victory against Washington.

On both sides of the ball, this was an impressive performance. The defense held Bradley Beal to a mere 12 points on 4 for 16 shooting and the Wizards only drained 22% of their triples. Offensively, Jayson Tatum and Malcolm Brogdon poured in 23 apiece, while Jaylen Brown led the way with 24 and 10 rebounds.

Joe Mazzulla’s group dished out 29 dimes in total which resulted in a solid 45% clip from long range. Other than getting overmatched at times in the paint, the Celtics looked good here. Tatum and Brown both had 32 points each in their last meeting with the Cavs but there was minimal help around them. Hopefully, that’ll be a different story Wednesday.

Cavaliers Betting Trends

First off, Cleveland has yet to lose at home this season, going a perfect 3-0. There was a certain level of hype around this franchise heading into 2022-23 after trading for Mitchell and needless to say, they’re living up to it. The best part? The Cavs are doing it without Darius Garland, who got injured on Opening Night. But, there is a chance he returns here.

Spida is truly balling out thus far, averaging 32.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.5 rebounds while shooting a blistering 45.5% from deep. The former Utah Jazz star showed the Knicks exactly what they’re missing out on in the team’s last contest, torching New York for a ridiculous 38 points and 12 assists, scoring 24 of his points from beyond the arc.

There was no shortage of help, either. Kevin Love flashed glimpses of his former self with 29 points and Dean Wade also dropped 22. JB Bickerstaff’s squad shot an efficient 46% from three-point land and completely exposed the Knicks’ poor perimeter defense. Cleveland looks for real at the moment and once Garland is back alongside Mitchell, it’s scary hours. The Cavs could very well be one of the best teams in the East.

Celtics vs Cavaliers Prediction

You honestly can’t ignore how well Cleveland is playing right now. They’re also 5-1 against the spread while Boston is only 3-3. The Cavs are the pick here.

Pick: Cavs +1.5 (-106)
