  • A small but powerful 4-game NBA slate is on tap for bettors Thursday, December 30th 2021
  • Of the four games, two of them are on NBA TV beginning at 7:00pm ET with the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets
  • See below to find out some of the best player props to bet on tonight

We may only have four games in the NBA tonight, but two of them feel like playoff games – so there’s that. We’re starting to get guys back from Covid protocols making the lineups feel more normal as well. Dare I say, tonight has all the makings of an undercover awesome night in the Association.

Half of the four games are on national television which is huge in my book. NBA TV took it upon themselves to take the best two games and show them on their channel which is heroic. Starting at 7:00pm ET, we’ll see the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets followed by the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets at 9:30pm ET. If that doesn’t get you jacked up, nothing will.

There are more unforeseen roster changes in the NBA than any other sport. Because of that, many books are reluctant to post player prop lines too early in the day. For that reason, not all of the teams in action tonight are included in the table below. Scroll down to see the lines that are available and a couple of best bets.

Odds as of Dec 30th at FanDuel & DraftKings

Joel Embiid is Unstoppable

Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo get all the shine and consideration for “best player in the NBA” but I don’t think we should forget about Joel Embiid. The man is capable of taking any game over at any time. Especially if there isn’t an opposing big man on the other team that can hang with him.

Look what he’s done over his last five games. That’s crazy.

Sure some of those games were against Chris Boucher, Daniel Gafford and Enes Freedom but Embiid can only play who’s on the schedule. And if we’re being honest with ourselves, one of those games was against this same Nets team. Albeit, Lamarcus Aldridge didn’t play but you’re high if you think he’s stopping Embiid.

I’d expect Philadelphia to treat this like a playoff game and feed Embiid. I’m talking 20+ shots. He’s been getting to the free throw line consistently recently taking double digit free throw attempts in each of this last five games which also helps. If that happens tonight, Embiid is going 30+.

  • The Pick: Joel Embiid Over 26.5 Points (-115) – DraftKings
  • The Pick: Joel Embiid 30+ points (+150) – FanDuel

Sorry Jeff Green

I’m not an under guy. I hate taking unders. They feel mean spirited at best and they’re actually hard to root for since I’m not just going to root for guys to miss shots all night. That’s why I feel bad for this one but it feels necessary.

Even though my guy Jeff Green can still get off the floor and do things like this.

The Denver Nuggets’ offense goes through Nikola Jokic and Will Barton at the moment. They could be getting Aaron Gordon and Monte Morris back tonight which further muddies the water for Green. Unless he comes out and drains a couple threes to start the game, I can’t imagine he takes more than 5-6 shots tonight. The Warriors are one of the best defensive teams in basketball so making all of those shots isn’t very likely.

  • The Pick:  Jeff Green Under 10.5 points (-116)
