Grizzlies Try to End Losing Streak

Memphis will try to break a two-game skid Thursday, with losses to the Portland Trail Blazers and Oklahoma City Thunder after winning 10 of its previous 11 games.

The Grizzlies have been a solid offensive team this year, which will be needed while going up against a high-powered offense in Golden State. Memphis enters the game with an offensive rating of 111.2, which ranks sixth in the NBA.

In victory, the Grizzlies have averaged 117.6 points along with shooting 48.5% from the field. In defeat, they are averaging 100.8 points and are shooting 40.1% from the field.

It will be entertaining as always to watch Ja Morant, who just returned to the court after missing the previous 12 games, go up against Steph Curry. Morant has led Memphis with 23.7 points, 6.9 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

Behind Morant, Dillon Brooks has added 19.7 points and 1.2 steals, Desmond Bane has averaged 16.5 points and 4.4 rebounds and Jaren Jackson Jr. has averaged 16.4 points and 5.3 rebounds.

Warriors Remain Dominant at Home

Although Golden State is a tough team to face regardless of where the game is played, it is once again one of the top teams at home this season, with a record of 15-2 in front of its home crowd.

Much like the Grizzlies, the Warriors feature one of the top offensive units in the league, ranking fourth in the NBA with an offensive rating of 112.2. On the other end of the floor, Golden State also holds the top defensive rating in the league with a 101.6 rating.

It will be interesting to see if the absences of a few key players will impact those areas of the team or not.

The Curry show will likely continue on Thursday, with the guard averaging 27.1 points, six assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals a game. Wiggins has averaged 18.7 points and 4.5 rebounds and Poole has averaged 17.9 points, 3.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds to follow Curry, although those two players will be out on Thursday.

Grizzlies vs Warrios Pick

Thursday’s game should be a fun one  between two of the top offenses in the NBA. In the end, however, the Warriors should be able to remain a hot team at home and Curry and company should manage to take down the Grizzlies to remain atop the West standings going into the holiday weekend.

For the best bet of the night, take a look at the over/under of 217.5 placed ahead of the game. Given the history of these two teams being able to put up points early and often, they should combine to hit the over on that mark.

  • The Pick: Over 217.5 (-110)
