The Milwaukee Bucks (10-2, 7-0 home) return to Fiserv Forum Monday night for an Eastern Conference matchup with the Atlanta Hawks (8-5, 3-3 away), the first team to beat them in 2022-23. The tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm ET.

Atlanta is coming off a 12-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers over the weekend, dropping them to 8-5. Meanwhile, Milwaukee also fell in their last game to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, just their second defeat of the season. They still sit at the top of the Eastern Conference, however.

This is already the third meeting of the campaign between these two teams, each winning a game apiece. The Bucks covered the spread at home against Atlanta on October 29th and boast an ATS record of 6-1 at Fiserv Forum.

Hawks Betting Trends

Atlanta is off to a respectable start, beating several solid teams including the Pelicans, Bucks, and 76ers. The backcourt duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray are making their presence felt, both averaging well over 20 points per game and serving as the Hawks’ best playmakers.

Nate McMillan’s group notched a win over Philly on Thursday but then lost to them on Saturday thanks to Joel Embiid’s brilliance as he erupted for 42 points. For Atlanta, Trae dropped 27 and dished out 11 dimes, while Murray contributed 23 points and seven assists as well.

The team shot a putrid 25% from downtown though and committed a total of 18 turnovers, translating into a mind-boggling 34 points for the Sixers. That played a massive factor in the outcome. Coughing up the rock has been a problem for the Hawks, ranking fifth in the Association with 12.7 turnovers per night.

Bucks Betting Trends

Milwaukee definitely looks the part of a title contender 12 games in, owning the best record in the NBA. Better yet, they’re a flawless 7-0 at home, which is good news for Monday. Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the charge with 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists, while four others are averaging double-figures. The most impressive part? Khris Middleton, the Bucks’ second-best player, hasn’t even played yet.

Friday’s 111-93 loss to the Spurs was by no means a bright spot, but Milwaukee was severely depleted. Jrue Holiday and Giannis were both sidelined due to injuries, leaving the rotation rather inexperienced. Holiday will be out again here, while The Greek Freak is expected to play. There were some bright spots to point out from guys who usually play in the second unit, though.

Jevon Carter dropped a team-high 21 points just two days after showing out for a career-high 36 against the OKC Thunder, proving that he’s more than capable of stepping up when called upon. Nevertheless, the Bucks were overmatched by the Spurs, which is understandable with no Middleton, Antetokounmpo, or Jrue.

Hawks vs Bucks Prediction

The return of Giannis is obviously crucial for Monday. I just really like how Milwaukee is playing at home and the role players are getting it done around the franchise superstar. 8-0 in front of the Bucks faithful sounds good to me.

Pick: Bucks -4 (-110)
